The pros: I loved the intense thrill. The single rider line is a god sent. ( wife wouldn't ride it lol) going up the lift in the dark gets your heart racing. The few second pause at the top allows you to fully take in the extreme plunge your about to experience.
Cons: forgetting my sunglasses on my head until the ride entered the elevator ( my bad, but what happened to the ride operator when he confirmed our car was safe for launch?) the cork screw style portion of the track has me concerned and this is why. First of all I'm terrified of heights but love the fear, so I made sure that lap bar was down as much as possible maybe even being uncomfortable. When I passed through the cork screw of the track I still felt my body sliding enough that I tightened my legs to avoid moving any further. Had I been a smaller younger child unaware of how long gravity forces you down during this portion of the track, I may have come out. Do I feel I could have gotten out by trying a bit yes, But I'm not doing that. If I had been a bit intoxicated and able to fool the staff and riding. My body may be loose enough to slip out more. Now some might say if your dumb enough to ride while drinking then it's your own fault, sure ok but that isn't going to go over well in the court room. I most certainly feel that shoulder restraints must be added to this ride. I truly feel that it's only a matter of time before this ride makes breaking news of a death from sliding out. Besides it's not like it's much more money to make this change considering the money made each day by lagoon. I mean come on your upside down. Could you imagine the rocket with only a lap bar. No way buddy I'll pass. The ride feels structurally sound and safe other than this. I do plan to continue riding this ride but I will always prepare to hang upside down, but even thought my 7 year old son meets the height and weight of this ride he will not be riding this anytime soon. With that said lagoon needs to empty out the change in there couch cushions and install this extra...
Read moreWhat I liked: I went on Wicked 3 times the day I rode this, and I always felt like it was missing something. Then I got off Cannibal and I was said "That! All of that is what Wicked was missing!" This is definitely the best ride at Lagoon and probably my favorite roller coaster right now. I was so nervous at first but as soon as we went down that drop I was in love. It's such a smooth ride (which I was glad to see, as Wicked has gotten a bit rough over the years)! That Lagoon roll is fantastic if you love that feeling of slipping in your seat, yoy feel like you're going to fall right out (don't worry though, it's very secure.)
What I didn't like: I don't have many complaints about this coaster. My one complaint is that I wasn't a fan of the restraints, they're a little uncomfortable and they press hard on your thighs when you go upside down.
Some things to know: This ride tends to have a lot of technical difficulties, some people think it's because Lagoon designed and manufactured this themselves, in-house. When I went to Lagoon, Cannibal was not operating most of the day. They were just running empty test carts around the track. It has a tendency to break down a lot, so just be aware of that when you go to Lagoon.
Ride this ride morning, afternoon, or night. Don't go on it in the evening if you plan on having your eyes open on this. When the curtain opens and you're on this in the evening, the sun gets in your eyes.
You may get a little wet on this ride, even though it's not a water ride. The helix at the end is near a water feature, and it comes close enough that it could splash you. I didn't get wet on this, but a few people have said...
Read moreJeez this ride was insane! The line wasn’t terribly long, although we got there early. This was my first roller coaster ever, and I think I should’ve built up to it first. But it was still great! The ride to the top was suspenseful, and the pause before the fun was terrifying. The launch down was full of Gs, and I felt like I was gonna pass out. After that, it was a pretty intense coaster, but few things compare to that drop. The only thing that beats it is the huge corkscrew, in which I felt super close to passing out, and one person in our group did pass out. Finally, it was a relatively calm trip to the end, although it was still fairly intense compared to other roller coasters. We all clapped at the end and here, 10 hours later, I’m still dizzy.
This roller coaster isn’t for the faint hearted. You might pass out, like the one in our group did, and you will experience a ton of pressure and ear popping. But if you like intense rides, this is definitely for you. Just make sure you look forward at the person in front of you (if there’s someone in front of you) so you don’t end up breaking your neck. I, an inexperienced roller coaster rider, kept trying to level my head with the ground, which surprisingly doesn’t work when it’s literally impossible because you’re upside down.
This was a fun ride, just make sure you’re being...
