If you're looking for a casual hiking or biking path in Farmington, this is probably the best one. It's surprisingly long if you follow it from the Lagoon campground all the way to Farmington pond. The entire path is paved, so it's great for small kids and strollers as well as casual hikers and even wheelchairs. It is pretty popular, but there are plenty of twists and turns over the creek and through the trees so that for long stretches of it you might not see anyone at all. Lots of people take family pictures, or even engagement and bridal pictures on the trail on the various bridges, so be prepared to stop and wait for a moment while they pose for their shot. A small stretch of the trail runs behind Lagoon's animal park, so you'll get a good look at their bison, elk, and a few other animals. The northern end of the trail leads to Farmington Pond, through a tunnel under the road and a steady incline. The pond itself is more of a big mud puddle, but there are plenty of trees and ducks, and it does feel like it's far away from town. Overall, this is a great, casual trail with plenty to see and lots of spots to...
Read moreThis is such a fantastic walking trail behind lagoon. It spans the entirety of the lagoon property but it also extends up to Farmington pond if you want to go that far. It is open year round and is a great trail to walk on whether you want to go for a walk, walk your dog, see lagoon from a unique spot, or just get outside in general. It is quite impressive how tranquil this trail is able to feel considering how close it is to lagoon as well as several neighborhoods, it is absolutely gorgeous! You can also see some of Lagoon's animals here on the southern end of the trail as well as some peacocks, birds, and ducks. It is a nice tranquil trail to walk on and is a wonderful part of...
Read moreThis is a very small trail. It goes around the back of Lagoon and winds around to the Koa campground. Very shaded and cool during summer for a nice walk with kids. You walk right past the animals you can see from the train inside lagoon. That’s the only highlight besides all trees. If you need an easy walk with small kids it’s fabulous. Another fun thing is somebody has painted small wooden birdhouses and hung them along the trail. Definitely going back with our bird...
