We will no longer be having our wedding at the crown coliseum. We have been forced to move our wedding to a different location because of the liars at the crown. We drove out to Fayetteville and met with the coliseum on three separate occasions (once on July 10th, August 20th and once on February 19th). All three times they assured us that they would be changing their ugly carpet before the wedding date, they promised we could decorate the walls and they promised we would have the venue to ourselves. Now, just 60 days before the wedding, they go back on everything they've promised. Not only did they bold face lie about the ugly 90's Taco Bell looking carpet getting replaced, not only did they lie about the decorations, they lied like dogs to us about having the venue to ourselves. They literally threw a full Alabama concert right in the middle of our wedding date and offered us absolutely NOTHING WHATSOEVER in return. When we asked them why they did this they told us that Alabama is a national touring act and we can have our wedding somewhere else if we want. That is just appalling and unacceptable and beyond unprofessional. There's a reason the coliseum threw our wedding to the side and hired Alabama at the last minute, it's because they're a sad, forgotten failing "business" and now I can see why. I will write a new bad review for them every day for the next 30 days (or until they go out of business, whichever comes first). BUT here's the twist, God provides. The very first venue we checked out after ditching the crown was a HOME RUN. Thank you so much to everyone who has helped guide and support us through this...
Read moreHere for my daughter's graduation and it appeared very disorganized in regards to parking and seating. Nobody directing traffic on coliseum Dr. side of building until after people were showing up. Parking got backed up of course, we witnessed people still coming in 30 minutes after the ceremony started. trying to get the best view possible we tried to sit in the upper level as did a lot of other people since it was not roped off, nor were there any signs saying it was closed. Not until after quite a few people were seated did someone come around to say that the section was closed. Again, no signs or areas roped off. When the ceremony was over parents, Grand parents and guests had to go out the coliseum entrance near the pond and walk back UPHILL to where the graduates were coming out of the Expo entrance. Very difficult for some to do. A much better option was how the ceremony concluded last year. On the Coliseum Dr side of the building the entrance/exit was close to a much larger handicap parking area (when roped off gave over 200 parking spots vs 20) and the graduates emerged from the next doorway up and met by that parking lot making a world of difference for anyone disabled.
If this is due to scheduling back to back graduations maybe have the time in between so all can park on the good side. Could have done it this time because that lot was empty when...
