Problem with parking and lighting. I had to take the time to do this review because my disappointment in my experience was immense. Ticketmaster encouraged everybody to arrive at the venue early. I got there at 6 PM. I drove 1 hour to get there. And my GPS took me to the front of the complex period when I got to the parking lot. The entrances to the parking lot were chained off and there was one sign with a directional arrow pointing to the left to suggest that I go to the left for event parking. I did that drove around and wound up in a dead end with no place else to go. A woman there gave me directions through the parking lot of another business to get to the parking lot. When I got to the venue, there were parking attendance present, but no one gave me directions about where the park. This is a safety issue.
Your lighting engineer should be fired. I have witnessed better lighting at a recent community theater production. The lighting on the performer and the lighting on the projected image was horrible. Anyone who knows Leanne Morgan knows that her comedy is rooted in her facial expressions, none of which were visible to me in what is essentially a small auditorium. I should have been able to see her facial expressions on the projected image, at least, anywhere I was, but the lighting was awful and, in my opinion, took away significantly from this performer. I know that the people who operate the venue have no control over how bad the opening performer was. But he was lackluster, low energy, and not worth the time it took for him to go on the stage. I will not be returning to this venue and I would advise anyone else who travels who wants to see Leanne Morgan not go to this venue to see such a wonderful performer.
I waited four years to see her and I was hurt that my experience was so far below...
Read moreMy wife and I came to see Leanne Morgan. Overall the facility is clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. They have a small variety of concessions available for purchase. The cost for these are in line with other venues that I have been too. Most items are over priced so be prepared, a bottle of water $4, a bottle of soda $5, and a small bag of popcorn $4. Even though the facility was very clean, I found the inside of the theater was dated and showing its age. Some the high ceiling tiles were missing, the paint was aged and dull looking, there were many chips in the paint which showed the wall under it, and the seating was aged. During Leanne’s performance I felt like there were issues with the EQ of the sound system. There was a pretty consistent high pitch ring due to the sound system not being properly EQ’ed especially when certain words were pronounced. Overall you could hear her fine, but for me the persistent ring during the performance could have been handled better. Overall I would be glad to come back to the theater to visit if the...
Read morePARKING ENTRANCE IS ON OWEN DR. & YOU HAVE TO DRIVE THROUGH THE CROWN COLISEUM PARKING LOT Our GPS took us to the crown theater through Gillespie street where every entrance to the parking lot seemed to be closed. There was only one sign that said “event parking” pointing down Gillespie st into a dead end which wasn’t much help. Directions towards the parking lot definitely need improvement, we were not the only ones circling around the area looking for the entrance. After several minutes and reviewing the area on maps we tried the coliseum entrance and were able to get there shortly after the openers started the concert. Entry was pretty quick, staff was friendly, bathrooms were clean. The chairs are small and you bump elbow to elbow with the person next to you but overall it was a...
