The lifeguards here are killjoys. For anyone under 14 and can't enter the lanes, this is a WADING pool, not a swimming pool. The water was clean and it wasn't too overcrowded. Details: Last year's review was 5-stars. This year, a lifeguard stopped me and my son from using a small skipping silicon toy (understood, this is one of their written rules) but then when I was gently and carefully tossing him in the air, being extremely careful and bothering no-one, he stopped this too. I understand what horseplay is, which is in their rules. It is defined as rough and boisterous behavior. I don't think anyone in their right mind would have considered this rough and boisterous. There is a difference when a man in his 40's is gently tossing his 10-year old son (this is playing) than two or more people of similar age wrestling in the water (this is horseplay). When I asked what rule we were breaking, he said "jumping." Anyone who has ever jumped in chest high water might understand this was an extreme interpretation of the rules. We'll return for a quick dip, but we won't expect to have much fun. I completely understand things must be kept under control and can escalate quickly, but this is about learning to properly assess your surroundings and make balanced judgements. Lake Rim Waterpark is one of the best additions to this side of Fayetteville since the Chick-fil-a got here! It’s affordable for all families, just big enough to accommodate a nice local crowd but small enough to not attract tourists. (Wet-n- Wild 👎🏼) They have the perfect set up for younger kids and toddlers, with water slides, sprinklers, and a shallow pool area. They also have an Olympic size pool with marked lanes. They also have separate male and female bathrooms with private showers and changing areas. There is also a family bathroom but I’m not sure if it has showers. The employees at the front window, as well as the snack bar attendants are always super nice and helpful.
