We attended the Dec. 7th 2024 showing of the Nut Cracker. The performance seemed to be good, for what I COULD see of it.
I purchased 4 tickets for over $200.00....We drove an hour and 40 minutes to get there and were not given the seats I had paid for. When I questioned it being the wrong seats, the hostess told me she was "sorry, someone else complained of the same thing and that she would make sure someone was told about it".... I purchased my seats on line, 4 seats, side by side, directly in front of the stage, when we were shown to our seats we were given 4 seats that lined up in a single file line along the left side of the balcony. I did not get to set next to my children, they had to sit in a single file line BEHIND me. We had to turn our bodies side ways in our chairs to look over the balcony to see the stage. I don't believe any of us got to see the entire performance because of the woman that was seated in front of us. She was leaning so far over the balcony it blocked our view. But it was because she couldn't see either. Me personally was only able to see about 25% of the stage, most of the performance was done in the middle where I...
Read moreI am a graduating senior of the 2018 class and I just want to say that this place was very unresponsible for our commencement ceremony. Each student in my grade was given 5 tickets to give to their family to watch them graduate (known as the white tickets). And if you wanted extra tickets they could go to the Sloan museum to watch it live on a big screen (known as the red tickets). I’m dumbfounded that we were given tickets to pass out and the whiting employees didn’t even bother to check them. It would be easy to check because it’s two different colors!!! Since they didn’t check the tickets, some parents weren’t able to see their kids graduate today. And some parents even had the cops called on them for refusing to leave because they have the right to see their kids graduate but it was taken from them. They could have easily taken care of this mistake by announcing it and asking everybody to raise their tickets in the air and leave if they have a red ticket. I’m lucky and had all of my family members able to see me but I’m disappointed other parents weren’t but able to do the same. I DO NOT...
Read more6.10.2018 If I could leave no stars I would. Beautiful venue, totally ruined by rude and incompetent staff. Parents of graduates, police escorted off the property and unable to watch their student(s) graduate, due to lack of seating. A problem caused due to staff not checking tickets at the door! Ergo a totally avoidable situation had the staff done their jobs! Outside there was little to no parking. A problem, only exasturbated due to a poorly timed event at the Art Center. After the ceremony(and ticket fiasco), the staff was extremely pushy and rude. Rushing us out of the building(even came in to clear the restrooms). Our school system and community trusted them with one of the most important mile stones a child can face, and they let us down horribly. What kind of restitution could possibly be offered to these understandably heartbroken students and parents? Will it make up for this once in lifetime event they missed? No, it won't. I am...
