To all history and museum lovers, you must visit this classic, late 1800’s, beautifully-appointed Victorian Home owned by Robert Whaley and Mary McFarland-Whaley in Flint, Michigan as it is a hidden gem. This is a museum that you must add to your list of places to visit. This historic museum is staged with family-owned and sentimental artifacts and illustrates the history this family experienced and brought to Flint during a time of significant change. This is a place that should be added on the list of places to visit in Genesee County, Michigan. The Executive Director provided an enthusiastic, informative, private and detailed tour of the home. The home can be toured privately by appointment or it is open to the public on the first and third Saturday every month from 11 am - 2 pm. The Whaley Historic House Museum can be rented for events and meetings and or you can attend various, entertaining programs such as Victorian Teas and Game nights. I visited the Whaley Museum at Christmas time and some of the florists and designers beautifully staged the museum for the holiday season. You can tour the museum as a guest, become a donor and member or even a volunteer. If you have Amazon, sign up for Amazon Smile where Amazon gives a percentage of your purchases to a charity of your choice. I highly recommend visiting the Whaley Historic House Museum.

A fantastic place to tour and visit. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, entertaining and informative. The house is beautifully done with history, antiquities and culture. To visit one must call and make reservations. If you wish to eat in the house, packing your lunch is an option. I would highly recommend visiting this place if you are in the Downtown Flint area. This is near the U of M Flint campus.

Love this house, such a Flint gem! Had a tour today & the tour guide (can't remember his name 😭) was very knowledgeable and kept the history of the house very interesting for my family, even the kids! They left saying how much fun it was! It had the mourning theme which was also interesting to see how people mourned back in the day. Looking forward to the Christmas decor!

I have such a personal affection for this house. It’s gorgeous and decadent, calming and peaceful. I love just sitting in the Formal Parlor surrounded by such beauty. The director is passionate and engaging. He has created so many programs that have brought this wonderful Victorian home to life. Volunteering and reenacting here is truly a joy. My family rented the house for our family Christmas and everyone was greatly impressed. Definitely...

The Whaley Historic House Museum is a gorgeous relic in Flint! It is beautifully restored and it offers a glimpse into the city’s Gilded Age history. The staff are incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable. Whether you're a history buff or just curious, this place is well worth a visit. The events are a great time, I personally love the tea parties! Very excited to see what other events they will host. If you haven't been yet, you...
