New clients beware!!! It’s been a week since I went to The Glossary. I have brown curly long hair and have loved every way each stylist has colored and cut it (prior to the glossary). LIV (previous owner) cut my hair several times and did a great job. When I called to schedule an appointment, I found out she had retired. The manager set me up with a new stylist and said she was the best. I trusted it would be great. What could go wrong with such a highly rated salon? After all, I only wanted a touch up and a trim. First she began talking about my color, but never showed me a color pallet. This was not too surprising since I just wanted to match what had grown out. If only that was the case. She colored it and let me sit a while. While I was sitting she said she didn’t like how my top was setting and blended it all together! I was nervous but still trusted this top salon stylist. Then she dried my hair to CURLY before cutting. I am 32 years old and have had well over 100 hair cuts. Never in my life has a stylist cut my hair both curly and dry. But again I thought, weird but ok. When she was cutting it, all I saw was gold. My caramel brown highlights were gone. I no longer even looked like a brunette. Worst, my entire widows peak was yellow!!! Nothing close to the natural look I had! Before I left the salon, the mix of the color, the products, and the frizz were so terrible that I had to braid it to walk to my car. I thought maybe it was the lighting. Surely I was over reacting and it would wash out some. I went home and immediately got in the shower so I could apply my products. While it was conditioned and wet, I really realized how bad it was. There were strands that were not cut and were at least 2 inches longer. My hair was so random, both stringy and chunky. I kept thinking there was no way this was real! I waited until the next morning after I had calmed down and called the main office to get my hack job fixed. I spoke with the girl and she told me to send pictures. I did. The manager then spoke with the owner and after several hours I called back, hoping to hear that their top stylist would surely fix it- asap. To my disbelief, she told me they decided that I could either go back to the same stylist who had ruined my hair, or I could make an appointment with a TRAINEE. If I wanted another stylist I would have to pay full price. After having already paid $200 for the first visit, and having lost a ton of hair, I ultimately decided to go elsewhere. A very nice stylist at another salon put a dark gloss on the yellow and cut my hair evenly. She said she the back was super blotchy and there were strands that were several inches longer than the rest. She made me the entire experience enjoyable and I was finally able to relax when I saw I looked like a brunette again. And to my delight, she charged half the price. I do not write reviews, but I feel like those who are thinking of trying this salon should be warned of both their customer care and stylist...
Read moreThis is an update to a review I submitted mid-March 2023 along with my excitement over the extensions Anna Claire put in my hair today (April 13). The extensions are beautiful and match my hair color perfectly. They look very natural and everything I had hoped they would be. Anna Claire was very professional, gave me detailed instructions on caring for the extensions, maintenance required & tips on how to style them and what products to use. The receptionist was very friendly and went out of the way to make me feel welcome. I was offered something to drink multiple times. She also apologized for my less than 5 star experience back in March on my initial consult for the extensions. IT WAS A MISCOMMUNICATION on the part of myself and Anna Claire. I was thinking she would respond back to me within a day or so from my initial visit. I did mention that I was going out of town & Anna Claire thought I wanted her to contact me when I was back in town. Therefore; due to our communication snafu I only rated the salon & my experience a “2” back in March. Since then Anna Claire has contacted me numerous times talking with me about the extensions and her search for the perfect match. I was hasty in my previous review because this girl went over and above what was expected of her. I am so pleased with the final work of art today and I love my new hair! If I could rate the salon and Anna Claire a 10 - I certainly would! Ladies if you need some fullness or length added to your hair, I highly recommend The Glossary AND...
Read moreOkay y'all, I'm about to be 100% honest. When I walked into the glossary almost 2 years ago, I PRAYED that I would walk out after my first visit happy (for once) with my hair. My prayers were definitely answered and I have made such a sweet, kind friend out of the whole process. My stylist, Darah (if you need someone who will not only make your hair dreams come true, but become a friend along the way I 11/10 recommend!!!!!) has completely transformed my hair into the beautiful blonde/platinum color that I have ALWAYS longed for. I have been to many other stylists in the past and paid loads of money to walk out with hair looking essentially the same color as I did when I came in. Also, I am no hair guru, but I promise you that you HAVE to trust the process. Luckily for me, I was able to go platinum in about 2 sessions (because I had already dirty blonde hair). Your stylist at the glossary is WELL equipped to give you the hair of your dreams (like Darah has given me mine) if you just trust them.
Anyways, rant is over. The Glossary is the CUTEST place and you will be so happy you decided to walk through the doors!!! Also, the pictures below are from my last session...
