Waffle House — Restaurant in Florence

Wasn't busy when we visited. Waitress was huffing and complaining about every task she was doing which was rather annoying. Forgot to call out cheese grits, then I had to ask about them halfway through my meal after I find that she charged me on the ticket for them, so she has the cook make them in 2 minutes and they're saturated with butter and clumpy and without cheese, so he has to go put cheese on it and the cheese never melted. Sad portion size for double hash browns. She would walk up to the table and just hold her hand out and you had to play a guessing game of what she wanted because she wasn't talking. It was really annoying. Just communicate. Didn't want to go to the back to get the vanilla drink flavoring so my wife could get the drink she wanted (so my wife gave up and got something else). Though she got the cherry for me out and the proceeded to put entirely too much in my drink. 😏 My food was good other than the grits. We won't be back.

Then as we were eating they took an order for someone with 2 all star breakfasts and one of them he wanted no eggs, so she and the cook agreed they should charge the customer separately for all of the items (which I'm sure cost more) instead of just holding the eggs.😱 That's a terrible practice. I feel bad for the guy for getting ripped off. Hopefully you see this and next time just get the All Star and throw away the eggs if you don't want them so they don't...

Friendly greeting by the waitresses and cooks upon entering. Clean and inviting atmosphere. Destiny helped me with my order explaining omelets aren't on the menu, but their cooks will prepare an omelet for me with my choices of ingredients. Cailie cooked an omelet for me that is one of the very best I've ever eaten. All of the employees, Destiny, Cailie, Rebecca, Chris, and others were helpful and friendly. My glass of milk was just like I like it, my coffee was just right; my toast was just right, and buttered too so all I had to do was to spread some jelly on. The prices were very reasonable. Especially that my omelet was so good! A delightful dining experience! I sat in a clean and comfortable booth with a window looking out onto the traffic traveling north, south, east, and west. You can count on me returning from time to time. It's conveniently located at the intersection of Highway 49 and Highway 469 in Florence Mississippi. Stop in and enjoy a delicious meal. We were there March 25 about 9-10pm. The waitress was fantastic loved her-cant remember her name she's younger with brown hair. The reason for the 1 star though...the guy cooking (curly hair - younger - shorter guy), was so utterly disgusting! He picked up the trash can with his gloves on & NEVER changed his gloves. He was putting grits on MY plate & took his gloved finger & like flung some from my plate back into the grits container. Moved MY food from another plate to mine. I was SICK! My husband said have them remake the food but I didn't want that guy anywhere near my food so I didn't ask for a remake. I didn't eat. Disgusting cook!
