The view is beautiful, the facilities are clean and well maintained. The road to get here is a two lane road, and construction crews are still working to rebuild and clean up after a series of hurricanes beat up the people of Matlacha so be patient as there can be a long line of traffic in and out of Matlacha.
I think that either pressure on the fishery or the aftermath of the hurricane changed fishing here a bit. I had a line in the water for 4 hours, tried multiple well established baits and methods and did not get a bite. I noticed that there were not recent reviews about fishing here and thought I might update the current situation.
