Bat House Park — Attraction in Florida

The view is beautiful, the facilities are clean and well maintained. The road to get here is a two lane road, and construction crews are still working to rebuild and clean up after a series of hurricanes beat up the people of Matlacha so be patient as there can be a long line of traffic in and out of Matlacha.

I think that either pressure on the fishery or the aftermath of the hurricane changed fishing here a bit. I had a line in the water for 4 hours, tried multiple well established baits and methods and did not get a bite. I noticed that there were not recent reviews about fishing here and thought I might update the current situation.

It is the time of year that the water is cooler here and that might have affected how they were biting. It's a beautiful place with a ton of places to fish. Please support local businesses, there is a beautiful bait shop on the way into Matlacha and locally owned restaurants to eat...

Nice area to fish and sit and pass the day watching the waters. There is a pretty good selection of fishes to catch. Have to come prepared with mosquito repellent because early in the day and at dawn and early night they are very busy and you won't feel anything until a little to late.
