Staying at Matlacha for a month we sampled most of the local eateries. Upon arriving at Andy's, the first thing that struck me was the colors and how nice the place looks. Sort of a gourmet fish market. So clean. Then I realized that the main contrast was that there is no smell - usually the first thing to hit me when I walk into a fish market. The summer menu included the best baked crab cake sandwiches and grouper sandwiches we ever ate. These people were so nice to us, offering to move a table inside so we wouldn't have to sit in the noonday heat. I mentioned that I would be hosting a lunch for friends and they made very good suggestions for my menu ... which we took them up on. You just don't find this kind of interest taken in the customer anymore. If you're visiting Matlacha or Pine Island don't miss this place. It was definitely a most...
Read moreThis place is amazing. I went in this afternoon for the second time this month and once again the service was over the top friendly and great. They didn't have quite enough Yellowtail up front, so without any hesitation they went in the back and cut a fresh filet for me. It is super clean on the inside and today as I waited I was blessed with the smell of freshly smoked mullet. As I finished paying, I was given a filet of their mullet to try, and let me tell you that this is by far the best I have ever had. The smoky flavor isn't over the top and the spice blend they used, made one of my son's who doesn't eat fish, keep coming back for more. Well done guys! We will be back and continue to spread the word. Keep up the great work and thank you again...
Read moreThey should not be in the restaurant business. They have excellent seafood but I ordered a blackened Mahi-Mahi sandwich and it came out as a breaded Mahi-Mahi sandwich.....which would not have been so bad (just an error by the woman taking the order at the front desk who wasn't paying attention) but it was WAY over cooked ruining a good piece of fish. I was asked how my sandwich was and I said it was dry and over cooked. He said Oh that's too bad. I think he was the cook and the waiter and very young and didn't understand how fragile seafood can be. Untrained I expect. He didn't offer to do anything about it. I ate half. They should focus on the market business and not pretend to be a restaurant or get a cook/chef who knows how to...
