I am writing this review to express my profound disappointment with “The Perfect Cup.” This establishment is a far cry from what it advertises itself to be. Its so-called “fame” is purely due to the lack of competition in the area. I am compelled to give a one-star review because otherwise, I cannot leave a review at all. This restaurant fails to deliver on every front it claims to excel in.
The name “The Perfect Cup” seems to be a misnomer, as you are expected to make your own coffee, which is perhaps the only way it can be deemed “perfect.” Everything else about this place is entirely disconnected from its name. The staff, or rather the person in charge, is unfriendly and exhibits a tremendous attitude when they are in the wrong and the customer is right.
During my visit, I specifically requested a breakfast order from my server, despite being very clear about what I wanted, she failed to understand and overcharged me. I ended up paying nearly $20 for a breakfast known as the "1-1-1" advertised @ $7.⁰⁰. When I pointed out that I only wanted one slice of bacon, she insisted that it was not possible, even though I know it is, it's on the Menu! She still brought it with 3 bacons.
When I raised my concern about the bill, she brought it to the attention of the lady in charge, "mom" , who responded with an attitude and demanded to know why I had not explained it to the server. I reiterated that I had been very specific about my order. Both of them then left me waiting for several minutes without any resolution. Eventually, another server, who was unaware of the situation, asked if I was ready to pay. After standing there for over eight minutes, I was handed the same incorrect receipt. Frustrated, I decided to pay without leaving a tip and left.
The food is overpriced, the quality is subpar, and the restaurant has an unpleasant smell. This was my second visit, and it will certainly be my last. The first time was with a group, and this time I was alone, but both experiences were equally disappointing. This place is not worth the headache, the stomach ache, or the attitude.
As a strong believer in the importance of customer service, I am appalled by the lack of professionalism at this establishment. If you run a business, customer service should be a priority in every interaction with both co-workers and customers. The success of your business depends on it. Waitstaff should not be afraid to apologize and assist customers, especially when the customer is right. A bad review can significantly impact a restaurant’s future, just as a good review can enhance it. Unfortunately, “The Perfect Cup” has failed...
Read morePerfect Cup has been a staple in my (JH) family for years. When our now-teenage son was born, it was his first trip out. And whether it’s your first visit or your thousandth, it’s always the same.
This time, as usual, I started with a coffee. Perfect Cup got its start born out of a number of coffee shops in Cape Coral called Origins. They roast their coffee in-house and have a wide variety of flavors to choose from. I’ve tried dozens and they’re all great. This time I tried a couple different flavors from their coffee bar and all were fantastic. Coffee bar is $3 and includes free refills…they even have to-go cups for one last Joe on the go. They also sell their coffee whole bean or ground to make at home. The Scottish Grog has always been a favorite of mine.
I ordered the Greek omelette with breakfast potatoes and sourdough toast. There’s not much to go into with the meal itself because it was all…perfect. The omelette has fantastic balance of gyro meet to feta to tzatziki to tomato to egg ratio and was cooked to perfection.
It was the same story with the potatoes. Though I prefer my potatoes a little crispier as a general rule, the blend of sliced potatoes and onions was glorious. Throw in toasted sourdough bread and I’m sold.
I’ve probably had a hundred meals at Perfect Cup over the years and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.
This was my (JD) first time and it definitely will not be my last. I’m a breakfast for breakfast guy, so I went with a lunch option. I started with a bowl of the seafood chowder. It’s the best in the area, hands down. The flavors, consistency, and bits of seafood were perfect. I would definitely suggest treating yourself to a cup of this amazing chowder.
I then had the patty melt with their breakfast potatoes. The patty melt was fantastic. The beef was good, the onions were delicious, the rye was great, and the melt was greasy, exactly as a melt should be. My only critique is that I thought it needed a sauce. But I love sauce. Regardless, it was so tasty and I would happily eat it again.
I think Josh summed up the potatoes perfectly. I usually like them crispy, but those onions...they are hard to beat.
This is a great little place. It’s one of the few places still standing and relatively untouched by hurricane Ian. They deserve your business and you owe it to yourself to give them a try. They will appreciate your support and you will appreciate their amazing food. I look forward to my...
Read moreRode our bikes there this morning and had on the appropriate riding gear.
My sister and I have been trying out new places to eat breakfast and today we chose this one. Upon entering, we both said "this is cute". It was posted to seat yourself with about 15 tables available out of probably 18 tables. We sat down in clear view of the service counter (tiki hut) where three servers were standing rolling silverware and chatting. 5 minutes went by with us staring at them wondering why the silverware was more important than we were. Two broke away to talk to their tables. The last lady kept rolling away, even looking our way a few times. I finally had to throw out the vibe and ugly face when almost 8 minutes went by, she looked up again then put down what she was doing and came over. She says, do you want anything cold to drink? I said, do you have coffee? She said, you can get that yourself and pointed to the back where the coffee was set up like a gas station. They did have French vanilla creamer though so one star for that. She finally took our order and her attitude just stunk to be honest with you. Food took a long time to come and it was sub par. The potatoes tasted old, too much cheese in the omelette. It wasn't terriable food, just blah. Our waitress never came back or even acknowledged us when she was talking to another table near by. Clearly people she knew. My sister had to wave down a different waitress for a glass of water, she was nice about it. The older lady, possibly the owner threw our tab on the table as we were eating and as she was walking by and said, here you go. I quickly said, we are seperate checks. She acted irritated and said we can fix that at the register, snatched it back up and walked away. Total attitude from everyone there, it was unreal. Checking out at the register this older lady seemed rude because she had to be inconvenienced by our huge request?. No tip was given (which I've never done before, being a waitress at one time) and we will never go back. It was a bummer time as we always look for a good...
