If you're looking for a place to study, this is not the place for you. Study rooms you are only able to book for 2hrs then you'll have to manage the "outbreaks" within the library. The outbreaks are simply teen kids turning this place upside down 180 degrees into a hangout zone.
Just this afternoon there were 3 asian girls + 4 to 5 india/nepal boys sitting at the tables literally running around, talking loudly, slamming chairs in, having a loud conversation about games, talking on the phone... the list is almost endless.
When a staff first approached them, they hushed for nearly 10 seconds until back at their routine. When volume escalated and I and three other people exchanged disgusted looks of annoyance, I stepped up to the front desk for assistance. It seemed useless as the response I got was "we've already spoken to them" and a grin from two staff members ... wow, think it's amusing and that's the best response you can provide? Obviously, if you've confronted the pack and the situation hasn't calmed down, isn't it right to kick them out of the library so others can have their space?
Sure you all call this place a PUBLIC LIBRARY. It sure looks like a LIBRARY BUILT TO TOLERATE KIDS ABNORMAL BEHAVIORS IN PUBLIC SPACES!
This is another example of raising the new generation the "wrong way". Stop tolerating EVERYTHING and scold them for what's wrong.
To people who actually use the library for their studying and relaxation, AGAIN, DO NOT COME HERE. Even if it's a drive use Lewisville, Denton and others. They feel so much at home from the...
Read moreI love this library! I've been coming here both to study and to check out books for about three years now. The wifi signal is strong and there are many tables to work at. I like that they put the children's collection on the opposite side of the building so that noise in the study area is minimal. I recommend going in the morning/afternoon areas or in the evening. I've found the busiest, noisiest time to be the couple of hours right after school, when a lot of kids from the local schools come to hang out with friends.
The librarians here are excellent! Very friendly and helpful. They're better at promoting their online/e-resources than others and I've seen librarians help elderly patrons learn how to access these resources which is great. Their collection is pretty diverse which is rare in a suburban library - they definitely collect books with many age and interest groups in mind, rather than focusing solely on the elderly and small children as many suburban libraries tend to do. Definitely recommend this library to everyone - whether you need a place to study, check out a book, or for...
Read moreReally pathetic that this is a public library but the resources on a computer are limited. No audio allowed. No volume allowed. Not allowed to connect my headphones. Needed to do a virtual interview and I was no that the accommodation would not be allowed, person admin of this library. My contact information is on file with you. Feel free to contact me to discuss when you are not too busy having a staffing meeting in the middle of a library. A library should be a quiet place for those to enjoy and use resources. You would have no idea if I were disabled and that you refused to provide an accommodation for that such reason but maybe you do now. I look forward to hearing from you and the reason you refused service. This review will be helpful to those with disabilities; they will know the Flower Mound Public Library refuses services and special but very simple accommodation requests. 100% disgusted by the lack of service and care this outdated so called library provided today. Date and time for references if needed: 04/15/2025 @ 2:20 PM...
