2021 amidst recurring pandemic conditions. Lembi Softball Complex is open and operating. Legacy Fastpitch Softball operating a tournament over the 9/11 weekend. Wild Softball at its best. Legacy has a great program. Lembi Park is an excellent venue with well manicured fields (3) and plenty of parking 1 block south of central Folsom. Tree lined main paths criss cross at the Club House with fully stocked snack shop. Large grand stands 10 rows high are situated mid field on each field between Home and the dugouts. Excellent viewing. The 4th field is for Baseball only and was locked off as no baseball game was happening. From my perspective the field is in tip top shape. There is a play structure for the littles to expend their endless energy on. There are many picnic tables covered with large shade structures for breaks between games.
Dug outs are Not covered which may make for overheated teams. Bringing tarps on hot days is a good recommendation. Fields are lit for late games.
There are multiple entrances to the complex. The southern entrance also serves the Lembi Soccer fields so if Soccer is also happening the parking at the north side is your best bet. Even so the walk from the furthest parking spot to the complex is not far. The facility is owned and operated by the City of Folsom.
I have included a graphic to show the placement of the fields. Something not included on the official Folsom Parks and...
Read moreLembi park is a large community public park with softball fields, baseball fields, basketball court (which all three have lights), soccer field, pickle ball courts, and play structure. Luv that the trees are large and mature providing ample shade. The public aquatic center is next door which is a bonus. They have a couple of large paved parking lots.
The website mentions tennis courts, but there are none anymore. The tennis courts were converted to pickle ball courts. I wished they would have kept at least one tennis court.
And talking about pickle ball. A local private group uses the courts daily in the mornings and some members are overly and needlessly possessive of the use. There was an open court to the far right which had no paddles hung to indicate next use (which is a park rule) and no one was waiting. So my group and me starting playing, and we were interrupted by a couple of “club” players stating we needed to move off the court. Hmm. Since this was a public court, we stated that once we finished our game, the court will be open. Those two chuckleheads beefed with us and insisted certain courts were based on skill level. But other members stated it is a public course for all to use and anyone can play on any open court. We ended up playing with some...
Read morePrivate tucked away feeling to this park but it's right in the heart of things located within an older section of east Bidwell separating a couple shopping and residential areas. It's a cool park and they fit so much in to accommodate so many different sports into this one park! The design of the park leaves so much open green space and room for walking trails, baseball and softball diamonds, soccer fields, tennis courts, pickle ball courts, etc. Very well lit at night for sports activities and games. It has clean restrooms, nice trails, a snack bar (only open when youth sports games are being held), plenty of parking, dog friendly and very well maintained... except for one thing... Some of the trash that makes it's way to the ground can end up being forever more on whatever fence it happens to blow into (on the softball fields especially). Trash could be picked up better around the playing fields. You really should check out Lembi park... Of the 48 developed parks that Folsom has, Lembi Park is one of...
