Huong Lan Sandwiches — Restaurant in Folsom

We dropped by during lunch time on Friday. There were some customers already but we were seated right away. It was like semi-fast food vibe: we first ordered & paid our food at the counter and later, someone delivered the food to our table. The water was self-service as well near the soda fountain. They put a sign that they were short staffed so it would be quite a wait for the food. However, we got our food around 15 mins after we ordered.

Ham, headcheese & pate (B1): bread was toasted so it's crunchy on the outside but still soft inside. The fillings were plenty and the pickled radish was delicious! Grilled chicken over rice (V1): the chicken pieces were big. The meat was flavorful and tender. My hubby was stuffed at the end of the meal. Pork & shrimp spring roll: the spring rolls were delicious and fresh. The rolls were quite big too. However, the sauce was too watery & lack of peanut (but still taste ok) Durian shake pearl: refreshing & good! Just the right amount of sweetness. The boba were chewy and sweet.

Overall, delicious & affordable food. We'll definitely come back to try...

Improvement from the first time we went, we ordered a sandwich and spring rolls.

Grab a menu, you order and pay first. If you want to eat in, you'll get a number for your table. If you want a dessert/drink, grab it and pay for it while you're ordering. They have drinks and a few Vietnamese desserts on the side now! There were also chili oil and pickled peppers on the side you can grab, yum!

We tried the 3 layer dessert! I didn't expect the "crunch" but it was good, not too sweet with a light coconut/pandan flavor.

The sandwich came out quick. It was warm and the bread was nice and crispy! The spring roll took an additional 20+ mins to come out, after being asked at the 15min mark if we still wanted it. Yes, my partner had his sandwich and we were waiting. Peanut sauce was ice cold. Menu listed it as "pork ball" it had similar flavors but not the texture I was expecting, just heated up nem nuong, expected more bbq/grill flavors.

Food and...

Got both vegan Bahn Mi's for the kids and I, both great. Also got the veg vermicelli bowl. Super great, but I needed to ask for more of the sauce/broth. The best part was the egg rolls. I went back a few weeks later and just ordered 5 egg rolls, wishbi had more right now. Best veg egg rolls in the Sacramento Area, like, the only ones I want to eat. Had a dream about them, Good.

My friends ordered pork Bahn mis and regular egg rolls, pork too, I think? And also chicken plates. They loved it all. Best place in town. There is plenty of seating for the number of people who are typically dining in. Went for lunch on a weekend and at dinner time on a week...
