Upon learning of my experience below, the owner of Cafasso's Market emailed me to apologize and took appropriate corrective action!!! In addition, he personally found the answer to my question and then went above and beyond to have the item set a side for me when I visited the store this afternoon. He not only personally greeted me, but also gave me a gift certificate as well.
This was my first visit to Cafasso's Market, and I was completely blown away by the Market, especially the prepared foods department. This was undoubtedly the best selection I've ever seen of extremely high quality prepared foods and extremely reasonable prices. And, I might add, the gentleman who waited on me could not have been nicer!!!
I spent $132 just on prepared foods and needless to say I will be back. My only problem now is if I keep going there the food is so good that I will end up a "Cafatsso" lol!!!
A big thank you to David Cafasso!! He was extremely personable and also offered to let me email him directly next year to get more of the specialty item that I was looking for. It was a nice family touch!!
Extremely poor customer service!!!! I called to inquire about a product in the Grocery department and was passed off to the Grocery manager who was rude beyond belief!!! All I wanted to know was how many of the particular items I was inquiring about was in stock and the price - nothing monumental. He responded by basically telling me that he was upstairs and wasn't able to check - but extremely rudely!! I completely understand if he wasn't able to check at the moment, but instead of hanging up on me he could have said give me your number and I'll call you back. I would have been more than fine with that but the fact is he just couldn't care less. So I called right back and was hoping that someone from customer service would help, but the woman who answered told me that she was on the register and she hung up on me as well!!! So, I guess the take away here is that Cafasso's doesn't really care about customers at all!!! What else can someone draw from this experience??? Not much more, I can truly say that...
Read moreIf you have lived in Fort Lee area for a long time. You should know this market may be as good as Whole Foods . This market actually out performs the best . There Deli is 5 â. There's always a line of customers waiting. The fruits and vegetables is also very good. Rarely do I get anything bad. This market is operated by the family who still owns it. They are doing an increditable job!. Now for the reality!!! A bit of advise!!! Carefully check your register receipt for over charging. I watch my receipts all the time. I've confirmed that I'm overcharged from 5% to 10% on average. Not just occasionally, but 90% of the time. All the cash register people say the same thing!!! O , YOU TOOK THE ORGANIC PRODUCT. And in almost every instance, the store puts the non organic and organic, side by side. And the store doesn't have clear signs. Very confusing. Most common on the fruits and veggies dept. When I complain, the register people have another excuse as well!!!! O , THE BACK OFFICE DIDNT UPDATE THE COMPUTER. Here's one of the most common over charges. Big Sign!!! 2 for $4.00 for black raspberries... nearly touching each other , there is the same product, organic for $6.99@.. Wowza!!! My final bill would get overcharged by nearly $13.00, just for one item. As I said, they somehow keep the overcharges in the 5 to 10% range. I hope the stores management are honest. However, shoppers must keep an open eye. NJ weights and measures would fine this operation if they would see this continues " situation " . If you tell the register people, there's an overcharge, they will credit you without a smile!!!!. If money doesn't matter, by far , it's a great...
Read moreUsually a good experience but I had an awful experience where I witnessed 2 employees literally screaming and cursing at each otherâs throat in broad daylight in a full supermarket. When I mentioned it to a cashier she said âyeah thatâs normal theyâre always arguingâ I go does the manager know? She said that was the manager screaming and yelling. How embarrassing to the manager, the owners and everyone else. I tried calling customer service several times and emailing to explain the god awful shopping experience and what my eyes and ears witnessed. I was surprised when I never heard back from anybody. Their lackluster attitude and demeanor just proves they donât care. They should care because it not my first stop shop anymore for any necessities and that couldâve been rectified had someone returned my call or email to inquire more about what I witnessed and at least out of common courtesy offer an apology. I am not looking for handouts but I sure as hell deserve an apology for what I experienced.
9 months later updated status: I still never got my owed apology or heard from owners/management and as a result I have stopped coming here so have my friends and family and everytime someone tells me theyâre about to do their shopping here I tell them what I experienced and have sent them to other supermarkets since. What an embarrassing establishment. I feel for the employees. If they donât have decency or audacity to apologize to their customers I can only imagine how the miserable looking employees feel. Because letâs face it. They ALL look miserable everytime which also diminishes the shop...
