Welcome to this edition of Revised Reviews. This place originally got 4 stars from me, but my last experience was not only bad, but also quite insulting. Normally I get pizza from here which they generously serve complimentary garlic knots, but this time I tried the calzone with pepperoni. There was a choice between ordering a large one, and a regular one, however I got the smaller size because it was already 13 bucks and change, that is more expensive than most calzones I buy and those other ones are enough to fill me up. Look at this picture and if you are Italian, I deeply apologize. This is not a calzone, it is the size of a Papa Johns Papadia and was about as much food as two measly pizza slices. The picture is also comparable to an empanada. I have no idea what these people think a calzone is, but I have never in my life had a calzone small enough that I could hold in my hand that easily. 13 bucks is almost the price of a plain pie in many places that could fill me up for a day. Not only was I still hungry, but quite upset and actually had to go to Papa Johns to get the remainder of my meal. Others who have seen this picture said it does not even look like a full calzone and if it is, then it is the worst calzone I have ever had. Aside from the kids meal size for 13 and change, there was barely any meat inside. I am giving them two stars and not one because the pizza is still good, but there is no way I can go back to a place that charges that money for a fake calzone. I could see people buying this for around 6 bucks as a snack, but nothing more (that is what I pay for a papadia). Don’t be fooled as the plate in my picture is a small appetizer plate, very small portion. Ironically, this is the one time I really needed the complimentary garlic knots however of course it is the only time they did not add them. They sent me on my way with not even half a meal. As someone who worked at restaurants, I know making that calzone bigger would not be a crazy cost increase for them. Even if the calzone tasted great which it didn’t I would still be upset with the portion. Add some more doe, cheese, or I would suggest majorly adjusting the price. It really sucks because I was a local customer, but they won’t be seeing me again unless they make it right and no, just an apology is not enough. I would suggest skipping this place until they edit this, there are plenty of other spots around that serve good pizza, and REAL sized calzones for cheaper.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this wonderful family-owned restaurant, and I can confidently say that it’s become like a second home for us. The moment you step inside, you’re greeted by an atmosphere that is both warm and welcoming, setting the tone for an unforgettable experience. Ryan the owner, has a hospitality that is truly unmatched. His kindness and genuine care for each guest make every visit feel special. He goes above and beyond to ensure everyone feels at home, creating a space that radiates warmth and comfort. The food is nothing short of outstanding. Every dish on the menu is crafted with precision and passion, leaving you in awe of the incredible flavors and quality. From appetizers to desserts, each bite is a testament to the chef’s dedication to perfection. It’s rare to find a place where every item is as remarkable as the last, but here, that’s exactly the case. The servers, Fred, Ardita, and Carlos, are nothing short of spectacular. They treat you like family, going out of their way to make sure you have the best experience possible. Ardita, in particular, has a special bond with our 3-year-old daughter. Her warm and playful interactions bring a sense of joy to our meals, making it a delightful experience for our entire family. These are not just staff members—they are people who truly care, and it shows in every interaction. This restaurant is more than just a place to eat—it’s a place where you feel like part of a family. The food is out of this world, and the hospitality is unmatched. I can’t recommend it enough!

Leaving a simple review. Upon entering we weren't necessarily greeted (my family and I went 1.5 hours from closing so the vibe I felt was the staff ready to go home)(which is understandable buy shouldn't dilute customer service 😅) and we had to choose our own seats (again would've preferred to be seated by a waiter/tress). I will say the food is FRESH and made from scratch. The bread starters were warm and tasted great! The Garlic knots were a nice touch (they could've been softer in my opinion). I ordered the veal with tomato sauce. It was good! The tomato sauce was made from scratch and the veal wasn't overcooked. I'd like in comparison to other Italian restaurants this is a truly community based restaurant with a owner that believes in HEARTY ingredients) but the seasonings used aren't as robust. However for the price and serving sizes it's definitely a location I'd return to if I'm seeking to eat carbs and fill my stomach. Overall 5 stars for a community Italian spot with cozy interior but staff should be inviting customers in with exuberance rather than indifference.

We Always see this place when we shop across the street. Having lived here a short while and wanting DELIVERY we figured we would try BIG RED TOMATO on Anderson Ave. My wife Ordered a simple Italian Hero with house dressing and I ordered a grilled steak with onions and cheese. Delivery thru Grub Hub worked well and fast. So was delivery to the bathroom. Well guess the ITALIAN hero was not the caped crusader but Darth Vader. Things exited with a force. Took about a day to recover. The steak was smothered in greasy onions. The cheese was luckily discarded . Needless to say the whole experience left a bad taste in our mouths. My poor wife luckily did not need to go to the ER, but it was touch and go, and go and go. She lost it about 1 hour and 45 minutes after consumption. Can’t really prove the source of this intestinal assault but circumstantial evidence leads to guilt by association. Erstwhile she was green and yellow , I was just green. Our insides felt RED AS A TOMATO. Advise proximity to rest room and a supply of Pepto prior to ordering from this establishment. Maybe we were just eclipsed. Hope you have better luck. We’re...
