As a person who values high quality jewelry at an excellent and fair price, I cannot say enough about my great experience with Ted at Herzog Jewelers in Ft Mitchell, KY! As you can see, its a long review ahead, but worth mentioning as I've become a new customer of Herzogs and hope this may help someone else who's deciding on where to go. A ring can be very sentimental to us, so it's important that you can trust whom you're leaving your special ring with for either a repair; or a new jewelery purchase. They have a beautiful collection of jewelry btw!
Previously, I was a Staffords Jewelers customer. A jeweler at Staffords installed a halo setting on my engagement ring that was recently purchased from them. The halo ended up being crooked with an unsightly gap. Soon after this, a side diamond on this same ring fell out due to their ineffecient prongs. Staffords abruptly closed their business and left no forwarding help for their customers; extremely disappointing!
I ended up taking my ring to two well known jewelry stores for an estimate to fix these issues; one in Kenwood, and one in downtown Cincinnati. Their estimates were far too high, and I felt like they weren't concerned about trying to make me a happy new customer of theirs. I declined their business knowing that I would never return to them.
Thanks to a referral from a friend, I was recommended to see Ted at Herzogs. From the moment I met with him and Herzogs friendly staff, I knew that I had found a new jewelery store for life. Though I have a tight budget, he treated me nonetheless giving me his full undivided attention with genuine concern about repairing my ring so that I could wear it again. He cared about me becoming a new customer.
Ted listened to what I needed, and gave me a fair written estimate after review that was well within my budget allotted. He updated me on the progress and date it would be completed. It was ready on time and beautifully done per my high expectations. The store and staff were covid-19 compliant which made me feel at ease and comfortable to be there. I would highly recommend that you stop by or call to see Ted at Herzogs in Ft Mitchell; I am so glad I did! Thank you Ted for your excellent customer...
Read moreFirst, I didn't buy a ring from Herzog. The reason I'm writing this review is because of the customer experience I had when shopping with them.
Herzog shipped in and showed me approximately 10 diamonds, which I'm told is about $500 in insurance/shipping costs, and they were all quality stones. They took the time to find out what I was looking for, explained what I should be looking for, were transparent with the information and advice they provided me, and didn't pressure me to pick one stone over another yet gave subtle recommendations as to which was the better value.
That being said, I knew what I wanted - something that looked huge and bright, so even if the stone wasn't IF or D-color, they didn't push the more expensive stone on me and were more interested in getting me what best fit my parameters.
Ultimately, I decided to go with a stone from a different vendor because the other vendor personally purchased the stone just to get it off the market because of how unbelievable the dimensions were, but I was still hesitant to go with my "ideal stone" at a different store because of how well I was treated at Herzog.
If I am going to get a custom mount/setting made, I'll be going back to Herzog as they're interested in the repeat business as opposed to the quick sell. If you go in there, ask for Susan - she'll give you answers to all your questions, and if she doesn't know, she will direct you to Ted who is the Rick from Pawnstars of diamonds (aka knows everything).
One last thing - I was showed the Rappaport report which coarsely calculates the fair market value of a diamond based off multiple parameters, and the stones that Herzog offered me were below the suggested value based on this report. In other words, I didn't feel the used car salesman vibe...
Read moreLet me start by saying Herzog is my go to jeweler from now on. I had been looking for an upgrade to my wedding set after 25 years. After looking almost a year online, I finally found THE RING, but it was in Minnesota. I took screenshots on my phone and after researching and reading reviews on jewelers, I went to Herzog. Upon walking in the door, I was greeted with a smile and immediately felt welcome. I spoke with Tara Michelle and Ted, showed them my screenshots and they said they could replicate them no problem. So after explaining how the process worked, we got started. I told them what size and shape diamond I was considering and was able to inspect them and choose the one I wanted. They kept me updated along the way sending pictures and making sure to ask if there were any changes I wanted made. When my ring was finished, I couldn't believe how stunning it was! I figured they could get pretty close when they said they could replicate it, but I had no idea! It looks even better than the picture. It's perfect and I absolutely love it!! I want to thank Tara Michelle and Ted again for making my special ring. You guys...
