updated 4/2/24 they now have food! Still the coldest beer on the island.
I'm conflicted about sharing a review. This is the greatest bar on the island because it isnt crowded, pretentious, expensive or selective. Imagine your best friend has a beautiful deck party on the water, and he invites you, and you get to meet all sorts of cool people, from all over the world. The view is stunning, the people are all friendly, the drink specials are inexpensive, the bartenders are like family and a new character walks in every 20 minutes. Everyone is laid back, there's locals, transients, folks from town, beachgoers, passersby and maria activity. like i said, it's more like your best friends deck party than it is a bar.
Ok, there's no food. But you can bring your own, stop as you enter the cove at the sandwich truck or get takeout along the causeway.
I've made so many friends there and the vibe is great. Events once or twice a month, live music often, plenty of parking and wheelchair access. Don't bring an attitude and be prepared to meet...
Read moreCauseway Cove is brand new. It's not totally completed. The marina is wide open to the South. There, at this time, is no breakwater. When the Southerly winds pick up, the marina waters get very choppy, even rough at times. I was assured by the dockmaster that a breakwater would be added. The marina is very attractive and well laid out. The staff is friendly and quite knowledgeable. My stop there was to check on liveaboad rules. There are no liveaboards allowed. A large area of the parking lot is set aside for events. I have been in the vicinity when some events were ongoing. They have been extremely loud. At times I have heard the music at my marina 1/2 mile away. The events are approved by the Ft Pierce city commission not the marina. There is an anchorage just offshore. The waters around and in the marina is very shallow. Strict adherence of the well marked...
Read moreRV sites are basically empty. At a time of the year when you can't find a place for an RV hook-up literally anywhere near here (and many of us come for work), this place is basically empty. 2,400 per month or 100.00 per day is insane. No one else had availability til April and May yet you guys are empty. The people I work with are nuclear professionals and when we work outages we work 7 days a week, 12+ hours a day. We are no trouble, but we do have dual expenses when we travel. Most of us do not get per diem so our cost is out of pocket. But hey, I guess you are making your money elsewhere and that is your prerogative. If you lowered your prices to 1000/1500 per month for the Nuke workers you your be full. And we are only here for about two months in the springs and two months...
