Museum Pointe Park is locate at the base of South Bridge. This is the park that surrounds the St. Lucie Regional History Center and the St. Lucie County Aquarium. If you plan on visiting either pack a picnic and enjoy it in the park after for a fun and inexpensive family day out. Museum Pointe Park is on the Indian River so it has great water views. The park also has plenty of free parking, picnic pavilions, a playground, and a lot of large shade trees The paved walkway along the water was my favorite part of the park. I noticed that there were a number of rock agama lizards sunning themselves on the rocks. Rock agama lizards are an invasive species from Africa. They were first introduced to Florida in 1976 from the pet trade. Adult males have distinctive red heads and black bodies and can grow up to a foot long. Their range has been expanding and they are now found as far north as Jacksonville and as far south as Big Pine Key. Unfortunately they like to feast on Florida's endangered butterfly species. Scientists are currently studying their effect on the environment. If you enjoy fishing there is a pier underneath the South Bridge close to the right of the park and South Causeway Park is to the left for more picnicking and swimming. Museum Pointe Park is filled with history, science, and nature. It is the perfect place to take the family this summer.

Affordable aquarium, history center, beach that’s extremely close to parking, covered seating with grills, beach, boat launch, playground, green space, public bathrooms and a handicap ramp that goes right to the waters edge. Great place to go and spend five minutes or five hours

This is an amazing place to spend the day! The pavilions with the picnic tables over in the green grassy park are big enough for almost any party! There are also single picnic tables under pavilions over at the beach side! People enjoy walking their dogs on the paved walkway that goes about a mile. More, if you walk to the end of the beach side and around the bridge! They have a really nice playground that they have fenced in with chain linked fencing. I have witness TWICE where somebody's dog got loose & could not access the children thanks to this fencing! Now... these dogs were GENTLE. BUT! if they "WEREN'T" how great that this fence was here! Plus! Your toddlers cannot go running off in different directions! 😂 The bathroom behind the Aquarium is separate from the beach bathroom. It is kept clean & in good condition. Having a baby station, which you will NOT find in the beach bathroom (for some reason)🤔. A clean water fountain is also...

What a pleasant surprise!! Sunday at the East end of the South Hutchinson Bridge. Curiously I followed the crowd and the music. There on the water front I happened opon a free concert put on with the combined generosity of government, business, and private citizens, and under the creative eye of my old friend Darryl Bey. Catch this gift to the community on future...
