James Rooney Memorial Park — Attraction in Fort Stockton

This beautiful park is surrounded by tall tree's, green grass with walking trails for those who travel with animals and need a break from a road trip. Its a great rest area for those who are travelling to Big Bend National Park! SMOKING SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED!!! I came here to enjoy the outdoors but I am breathing secondhand smoke which kills nearly 2,000 people per day.

The drones are super annoying as well.

The bathrooms are really weird there's three toilets no doors and separated by a 3-foot wall in between each so when you're sitting down you can look at the person right next to you. There's absolutely no privacy at all. It's okay if it's an absolute emergency and you have someone that can stand outside the main door.

People just cruise through here over and over and over. Something ain't right. I did see the sheriff...

Just want to say thank you to the "powers that be" for creating a Pickleball court in Rooney Park!!!!! The old tennis court has been changed to a Pickleball court. There are a few cracks in the asphalt and some gravel that occasionally makes its way onto the playing surface, but otherwise a nice lined court with colored sections and a new permanent net. Thanks again.....now Fort Stockton needs a Pickleball club/community/crowd that would like to play on a regular basis!
