Read moreFirst time at this store and when I walked in I wasn't even aware there were employees and a like desk off to the right as they never said anything to me when I entered. I saw people walking around with maps. I suppose there must be maps to get around the place, but I was not aware of this as the employees said nothing. I mean, they just sat there and did nothing. I knew nothing about the store or how to get prices and I had to keep coming up to them and ask them the questions that could have been answered if they would have greeted me and gave me this information as a new comer, especially the map.
The prices of their books I think are high for used books. Especially for books by authors and titles Ive never heard of and look pretty old and especially for their hard backs. I was interested in one book and I wish I could remember the name, but it was a hard back and they wanted $15 for it when it's $17 new on Amazon and I'm sure if I could remember the name of the book, I'd find it used and much cheaper on Thrift books.
Oh and there's no public restrooms.
I give the place 2 stars for its abundance of books and they all seem in pretty good condition. Still priced too...
Read moreThis store is adorable! They do have bookstore cats, so if you have allergies be aware of this before going in. I was expecting the prices to be lower than they were (like maybe a few dollars per book or less), but they are closer to actual book pricing. I found a copy of an Alice Walker poetry collection that you can buy new for $10 to $15 on Amazon or other bookstore. I'm not sure why the prices are so high on some of the books (especially ones with writing and/or highlighting in them - a few books I found in the poetry section had this and were priced around $15) and lower on others. The bookstore itself is cute and totally worth stopping at just to see it as a touristy stop for booklovers, even if you don't plan on buying anything. Oh, and they do have a basement area with tons of graphic novels and old tabletop game master books! Check those out if you're...
