Lawton park is a wonderful place to spend the day, or even just an hour. It is vastly larger than most parks in fort wayne, and is usually quite uninhabited. It is made from wood, with plastic tunnels and slides. There are too many slides for me to count (including one that is the largest playground slide ive personally been on), tunnels, (intentionally) wobbly bridges, ladders or various types, monkey bars, sandbox, balance long that turns, and so much more! Nice park with good size playground, multiple baseball fields and a multipurpose field (football, soccer). A large expansive field with picnic tables and trees for shade, 2 pavilions, a drinking fountain, and bathrooms that are open during the spring to fall season. Great downtown park of many. Walking & biking trails. Lots of mature trees with an extensive kids playground, places abound for a picnic while watching the kids play.
