I was going through the parking lot the other day and hit this huge pothole which actually blew my tire and bent my rim. I messaged the Art museum stating what had happened and if there's anyway I could be reimbursed for the damages done. They had emailed me back within the hour claiming that they're not responsible for the parking lot or anything that happens in it, but Arts united is. They had given me the name Miriam who happens to be the VP of the campus. So emailed her with no response. So I waited a couple days because it was during the weekend and had emailed her again with no response again and here we are 2 almost 3 weeks later and still no response. Read moreThere are parts of this venue, such as the public spaces that surround the auditorium that I like, but not the auditorium itself. It doesn't blend with the warm brick lining every other space in and outside of the building. The huge offset concrete blocks along both sides are cold and as oppressive as is everything that came out of the Brutalist architectural movement. I also despise any seating arranged without a center aisle making getting to the best seats, in the middle, combined with apologies to the people being climbed over. And the acoustics are terrible for performers and the audience. On the other hand, the gallery, above the entry and surrounded by windows makes for a lovely...
Read moreThis is where the Civic Theatre is. We saw "Jersey Boys" in this now 50 year old theatre which is soon to be renovated. The play was excellent & cast was spot-on. The foul language was something I could do without but I realize it was part of the play. Songs & voices took me back to my 20's for one lovely night. I can't wait to see what they will do with this...
