Masterpiece Audio Video — Attraction in Fort Wright

I had been wanting a true "home theater" for my whole life. I stopped into Masterpiece Audio, and happened to catch Adam Perkins. I apologized as they are not a showroom. Adam welcomed me into his office, and we discussed what I was looking for. A couple of weeks later, I decided to pull the trigger on the project. Adam came to my house, and gave me several ideas for hardware based on my oddly shaped finished basement. His crew came in, flawlessly ran cable, audio cables, installed hidden wall speakers, and made an ugly storage closet look like a cool, part of the theater. It's kind of hard to explain, but his guys made my television wall look bigger. The Masterpiece crew was awesome. They guys he had working were super friendly, and each treated my home as if it were their own. They were fun, friendly and meticulous to detail. I now have true cable run to my basement so I'm not limited by having to use just wi fi anymore. That is a service no cable company even offers. I was humbled, knowing they were working on jobs up in Madeira and the Indian Hill area, but they treated me as if I was their number one customer. Masterpiece gave me, what I consider my dream theater, significantly UNDER the budget I allowed Adam to use. He is not into upselling. He gives you exactly the best he can offer within your budget, and he has the connections to get high end equipment cheaper than you can on the internet. I rarely write reviews about services I have received but the staff at Masterpiece Audio and Video deserve the compliment. I have used Masterpiece Audio on three separate occasions. The work they have done has always exceeded my expectations. The compliments that I have received from people that have visited my home and watched movies on the home theater system, are a testament to their work. AJ in the front office listens to your request and helps plan the project while working within your budget. The installer show up on time, clean up after they get the work done, and demonstrate how the system works until you feel comfortable with the new equipment. Additionally, months later when I had questions about the system I purchased, a quick call to to AJ and my questioned were answered. Service after the sale is hard to find these days but it is common at Masterpiece Audio. I have used Masterpiece Audio on three projects, one large project and two smaller projects. Called 2 weeks ago about having my DIY home theater speakers upgraded. Was told “we’ve never done anything audio related for cheaper than $5,000.” I said I understood and was willing to spend what was needed. Then he asked what I spent on my current system and I told him it was a cheap $500 Yamaha set. He said “your problem is you want $5,000 sound with a $500 set”.

I reminded him again that I’m willing to spend what it took. Not sure why he immediately treated me like I wasn’t willing to spend the money. Obviously if I’m calling a company to professionally install an upgraded system, I know I’m going to spend some money.

Then he rambled about his inventory being low due to the import situation and that I’d have to “settle for whatever he wants to get rid of from his warehouse.” He said he’d call me back with a price. Two weeks later, no call back.

Very awkward conversation and zero follow up. Hopefully there is another AV company locally that wants...
