Read moreWe had a great time at Silver Lake! It is the perfect size to be able to walk around the entire thing, even with kids. The weather was nice that day and the scenery was beautiful!! The wooden walkway turned into unpaved trail but both were perfect for easy strolling and cute pictures. There were ducks, dragonflies, and butterflies. The flowers were pretty too. There is plenty of parking by the visitors center that is there (including handicapped). The visitors center was interesting to walk through as well. Smokey Bear had arrived by the parking lot just when we were about to leave. My kids had fun meeting the bear and having our picture taken with him. Two and five-year-olds hiked the whole way on their own! No swimming, no beach/bay.
