It's a nice place to take people who may not downhill ski, to give them options to still try some winter sports (cross country skiing and snowshoeing). I've gone snowshoeing twice at the Nordic Center, had a great time both times. First time did a long hike on groomed trails during the day. The trails are well marked. Just remember, if your not doing a loop (out and back), turn around before you get tired. The 2nd time I went to the Nordic Center was for Night Snowshoeing. That was a lot of fun. We came here with a few friends and instead of doing an organized hike, we just went off on our own. There were plenty of artificial lights to keep us on the path and was easy to follow. The only draw back is that when the center gets busy, it can be a slow process to get your rental equipment due to limited staffing. When we did the night snowshoeing, they brought in extra staff which helped things move along. The staff is very friendly...

EXTREMELY RUDE EMPLOYES

The map they gave us was joke.  We met  a lot of people on the trails that were also being talked to rudely, by the employees,  and found the map confusing. One lady actually reads maps for a living. She said it was useless. The rudest employee's I have  ever met.  We were going the wrong way.  We apologized.  Then I heard the 2 employees talking about us to a lady they were giving ski lessons to. They were being totally disrespectful about us.  I usually let things go but this time hearing them rudely talking about us I had to say something. The signs are very poorly posted. We weren't the only people going the wrong way, I filmed a lot more people doing the same mistake we did. Also the snowshoeing trails are over groomed, a very boring snowshoeing day. DON'T...

I'd never been here before. Wanted to do a half day of skate skiing and so arrived around noon. Thought I missed the turn off and so I parked at the Fire Station and got on the trail marked no trespassing and fee area. I followed the directions and headed uphill for a half mile to the Nordic center lodge to pay for a half day. When I arrived, a staff member told me I had skied already and so had to pay a full day. I didn't know when the half day started. I asked him if he was serious and he continued to say I owed a full day. I left and headed to ski back to my vehicle and leave. He threatened to have the fire department ticket me for trespassing. I asked if he was going to force me to walk down the road. Yeah, I left and walked down the road...

WOWZERS! What an incredible 2 days of snow shoeing here! We rented our shoes at the Village instead of the Nordic Center up top. So, so convenient, as our room in the village was yards from the trailhead! Affordable, easy, good quality shoes that gave us confidence and no issues with functionality! We grabbed some poles as well. They allowed us to keep our shoes overnight, which was a game changer! We walked until closing day 1, and then began early morning on day 2. Awesome trail system, perfect snow conditions, plenty of signage or flags for following the trails, and some great exercise. Nothing better than walking and talking in quiet snow with your partner in the back woods. Well...maybe a picnic?! Perfect 2 days!
