I'll start by saying we had a fun time at our show. We all laughed a lot and greatly enjoyed ourselves - the food was delicious! However, the experience was not what we expected nor hoped it to be - and maybe that's just on us, but we were disappointed. This is not an interactive murder mystery where each guest is assigned a backstory and able to participate fully in the game. This is theater - largely improv - in a hotel ballroom with audience participation. There aren't scenes or even real plots, however. The acting is mostly just two individuals having a conversation with the audience members. We did not feel like the "interrogations" of participants connected at all to the hints that were being given each round. There was one story going on in the hints that was very hard to connect to asking a confused participant random questions. The hosts encouraged us to interrogate each other to figure out who committed the murder after each round - but at least on the night we attended, no one left their seats or talked to anyone other than their tablemates. It was not very interactive in that regard - and even if there was more opportunity for it, no one had any "backstory" to use to participate. I paid extra to frame one of the guests in our group as a suspect - but all that meant was that he was asked "did you know our victim?" and teased a few times throughout the night. I had been under the impression he would have more of a role in the story. In all, did we have fun? Yes, it was a good time and a unique date night. But would we come again?...
Read moreWe had an absolute blast at The Dinner Detective in Franklin, TN! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was energetic and engaging. The actors blended in with the crowd so well that we were constantly guessing who was part of the show and who wasn’t—which made it even more fun!
The storyline was clever and kept everyone on their toes. Just when we thought we had it figured out, there was another twist! The interactive format made the experience so much more immersive, and it was fun watching our tablemates get into the spirit of things.
Dinner was surprisingly good for a show-based experience, and the service was friendly and efficient throughout the evening. It was a perfect mix of comedy, mystery, and dinner theater, and we left with sore cheeks from laughing so much.
Highly recommend this experience if you’re looking for a unique date night, group outing, or just something different to do in the Franklin/Nashville area. We’ll...
Read moreWe were there for a bachelorette party and the actors were rude and were bad actors. They were very confrontational regarding the bachelorette party favors that we had brought. They were totally aware we were there for a bachelorette party even asking for permission to use the stuff we had which was granted. After that, the actors ignored the 2 tables we purchased like a bunch of babies. They even threatened to throw us out of the show and and arrest us for assault because one of the woman squirted an actor with a water squirt gun. These people were very uptight. We do NOT recommend this show at all and was not worth the money for the entertainment value. If you ask anyone our 2 tables put on a better show than the actors did. What a bunch of babies. Find something better. Also didn’t even grab our papers which mind you we would’ve won and they stole our water gun. I will be posting everywhere I can to let people know how awful and...
