One River School of Art + Design — Attraction in Frisco

Up until today 5/23/2022 we've had a reasonably good experience maybe another star. We've changed which class my daughter was in once. We moved her to a digital art class from a cartooning class because they started doing cartooning using the sun through the window standing up. I'm no expert, but I don't think that's how it's done. Everything was going fine in the digital art class until I got a call on Sunday from the director saying they were ending the class. I said no problem I'd just come in on Monday and figure it out, she said great. So I get in there with my daughter to potentially select a new class. The person I talked to wasn't there, and whoever I did talk to didn't know anything about the class cancellation and just acted confused. Once she made it clear that she had no intention of figuring out what was going on, I just told her to freeze the account and really just for lack of a better option. My daughter is very upset.

UPDATE: 11/21/2022 Things just got worse over time. They increased the price twice, the second time without mentioning anything, they just charge the card without asking. Furthermore it's written into their policy that you're agreeing to an extra month of paying them beyond when you attempt to leave. This organization is the worst kind. Read the paperwork and don't trust what you hear on the phone! I never write these reviews, but (1) They say their model is for the kids to have freedom to explore "whatever they like"....but after the first class, the instructors would steer the kids into what the instructor wanted them to do (ex: one media versus another)....(2) So few kids wanted to come back to her regular class time that they disbanded it (3) Good luck being able to catch them on the weekend or after hours if you work because I drove up there 4 times to sign the cancellation paperwork and the doors were locked each time (4) They will try to talk you into putting a Hold on the membership instead of cancelling - DO NOT DO IT. See # 3 above. They'll make it sound easy but it is not. You won't be able to get in there to sign their paperwork and you'll be out another $160...

Had so much from learning from Jon and other students in the adult classes over the past couple years. He’s a fantastic teacher and gives students the space to explore and experiment, while giving detailed feedback to help us grow. He provides more hands on direction and substantive guidance than the average teacher because of his background as an artist. Many of the adult students have also been in art shows and competitions with the work they did in class.
