We just left this place.. it's right around the corner from our home and kept saying we would give it a shot. And I will say, we will NEVER go back. The service here was terrible. The young man was rude, not helpful, laughed at us to the cook, rushed us and enjoyed watching the soccer game more than helping any of the customers. I get he is young... But customer service here, had me mindblown. The young girl was very sweet and helpful, also was the hardest working one we saw the whole hr we were there. Scrubbing windows and running out food.
The food... Ingredients were great, super fresh and tasted great. What ruined my whole dinner was the queso. $10 for a cup of queso we couldn't even finish it was so spicy. We eat spicy food, sauce is our thing... But this was ridiculous. They drowned my burrito and rice in it, I couldn't even eat it. Especially given the fact their menu doesn't have one thing listed as being spicy, except for the quesadillas. The funny thing about that, my boyfriend ordered that and it was the only thing that wasn't spicy. I'm posting pictures to show their menu... As mother,y boys wouldn't have been able to eat this type of spicy. It's wreckless, no caution or warning signs anywhere about it and a waste of our damn money. Way over priced here. I will not ever recommend this place on any level. In fact, I hope you all steer clear, don't waste your time with bad service... Or your money on food you can't even enjoy. If I could give this a negative star rating, trust me, I would. The empty parking lot shoulda been my first red flag. The best thing about this place other than the young lady, was it being attached to 888 COOK HOUSE. Go there instead, you can never go wrong there and the service and food...
Read moreFirst time ever coming to this establishment and was excited! Heard of them through tiktok and saw a location was near me! I ordered a bowl with an individual tamale.
I already was feeling barely acknowledged, and I mentioned to the employee how I never been here, and he just kind of blankly stared.
When I got to checkout I paid for a bowl and tamale and dined in. I had my bowl but they never gave me my tamale.. not even acknowledge that it was “coming”. I assumed maybe it took a minute for them to make? Because the place was not busy.
So I sat down and ate some of my food and waited… no one came by with the tamale? I asked for a to go tray because I was also somewhat full, again STILL waiting on the tamale. I sit back down and for like 10 minutes, by then I am annoyed and I walk up to the cashier and say “Hey, I was waiting for my tamale.” By his reaction he COMPLETELY forgot.. and he goes back to the back and still shows back up empty handed says “just one minute”.
I sit by the cashier patiently… (why am I being patient? Because at this point it’s definitely been 25-30 waiting on the tamale I paid for😒) another 7-10 minutes pass STILL NONE! I walk out completely and annoyed.. I didn’t want to be petty and ask for a refund on my tamale, when honestly I should have cause I never got it!
My point I am trying to make is there was no acknowledgment and literally no communication, and the service was very disappointing.. and to be honest that’s not even the word I can use because it felt worse. Literally no acknowledgement, I felt unseen, and dismissed and ridiculous standing and waiting on something I PAID FOR!
I would never eat here at this location. Maybe try...
Read moreMediocre food and worse service. My husband and I ate there tonight. The restaurant was empty and the teenagers working there didn't even listen to what my husband and I ordered. I ordered the Friday fish plate with blackened Salmon. I received fish tacos with tilapia. My husband ordered the smothered burrito with queso on top and asked for lots of onions. The young man taking our ordered snickered at that and my husband told him he was serious. I ordered a bourbon smash and he a fountain drink. My drink didn't look like the bourbon smash that I had asked about but still tasted ok. It was more raspberries and lime than the darker colored berry drink that I was told was the bourbon smash.
Our food arrived hot and tasted ok so I didn't complain about the tacos. I just took the fish off the tacos and ate it. My husband's burrito had some sort of Chipotle pepper sauce instead of the queso. He said the steak was flavorless. He ate it because he hates sending food back and he was really hungry also.
I've eaten at Chilloso before and had told my husband how good it was. We were disappointed in the service and didn't bother complaining as there didn't seem to be an adult working, just a bunch of teens. The food didn't taste too bad. My tacos were ok. It was just overall disappointing and we wish we had spent our money elsewhere tonight. The salsa, Pico de Gallo, queso, and jalapeño ranch were really good. The chips were crisp and...
