I booked a birthday party for about 40 people in total at this establishment today. What i really like about this place is the cleanliness and how well ventilated it is compared to other indoor playgrounds. Although there was another Kids Empire closer to my home in Monrovia, I chose to have my son's party here because it's in better condition than the one near me. The staff was also very nice and polite during my interaction with them. I loved the unlimited drinks they offered for the party package but that's about it. The kids had a lot of fun also.
That being said, I must also express my disappointment and regret with having a party here. Their policies are absolutely ridiculous, greedy and down right criminal.
Issue #1 that I had was that after paying my $150 deposit online, I got a call the week of the party and was told that I had to go in to pay for the remainder in person only. They did not accept payment online or any other way. It's a huge inconvenience considering I live an hour away and this was not stated as a requirement online.
Issue #2 is that if your guests dont show up for some reason they will not issue you a refund, credit or passes to come back. I found this to be a red flag at how greedy and unreasonable this franchise is. Because of this, I underestimated how many people would attend and paid for them as they showed up.
Issue#3 I felt ripped off when this establishment charged me almost $50 per child that showed up as part of my party when they werent originally included. They should have been charged regular admission since they didn't get pizza, cake, snacks or other benefits of the party. It would have made a lot more sense for me to just say they werent part of my party and purchased a punchcard for 10 admissions instead at $159 instead of being charged $450.
Issue #4: We were only given 4 tables for 40 people. So we were extremely cramped up with 10 people per table and needed 1 entire table for food. Our server wouldnt accommodate us for an extra food table even though we were the only party there that day.
Issue#5: We had to throw away so much good food because of their policy. So our party was from 2pm to 5pm. At 5pm they will allow you to stay but any food or decorations must be gone when your party ends. I can completely understand having to clean up decor but my issue is being rushed to get rid of the food. We had a decent amount of food leftover at the end of our party but wanted to stay longer. Their policy on food having to be completely gone is crazy. It forces clients to either throw away perfectly good food, leave or take food into your vehicle to spoil and be thrown away. Now, i paid $1500 for a 3 hour party and wanted to stay so my kids would have fun. So the food i had was thrown away unfortunately because i live an hour away. Even the pizza that they make here needed to be gone which makes absolutely no sense to me. If they ever want my business again, they will have to adopt a more reasonable policy on maybe just keeping the food on the table without the party decorations.
Issue #6 Our server was very sweet but disappeared for a while. I ended up having to do most of the cleaning when i was told i would have someone helping.
Ultimately the three hour birthday party package feels extremely rushed and overwhelming for parents. I was expecting a better experience which is more accommodating to parents throwing parties for their children. I found everything just inconvenient and stressful. I would never book a party here again...
Read moreI really never do reviews but with an honest heart I come and place my judgement on this place went couple days ago a girl attended me blonde short hair girl very nice and patient It was extremely busy and they were short staffed they all still did their part running around and taking care of all guest from training new employees to attending those with parties trust me I was super observant. But as I can say guest are extremely rude and feel so entitled I have kids and I know how mine get with other kids and a whole playground for them it's still parents job to take care of their kids and this goes down to all parents reading this IT IS NOT A DAYCARE the staff is there hustling working even student that have school part times its not fair what I saw people doing being extremely RUDE. Staff of course don't know flow of traffic. It depends and of course they have to do all running around if staff isn't willing to come in. So as u reviewers or trying to check out this place be kind take care of your kids and do your job as a parent cause I've seen how they sit in laptops phones and just let kids hit kids go on surfaces that they shouldn't Don't feel entitled when it was your job in the first place to take care of your kid and they get hurt.Staff your all doing...
Read moreI recently visited Kids Empire in Fullerton, and while my child had fun, the overall experience was frustrating. The entry registration process is confusing—overly complicated, and the staff seemed unorganized and untrained, constantly going back and forth just to complete a simple check-in.
The payment system is a joke. No high-traffic business should be running on such slow and unreliable systems.
On top of that, they were blasting Spanish pop music the whole time! which wasn’t appropriate for a kids’ play area. If you’re running a place for children, maybe curate a playlist that actually fits the environment instead of playing whatever you listen to.
I also hate having to give excessive personal information to a business that doesn’t seem competent enough to secure it properly. I seriously hope they have good cybersecurity in place.
While the play area itself is great for kids, the management needs to overhaul their check-in process, properly train staff, upgrade their payment system, and reconsider their music choices to make it a more enjoyable experience...
