The Trophy Shop — Attraction in Gainesville

Stopped by here the other week. I heard good things and wanted a baseball card smashed between two clear pieces of acrylic.

The service was friendly and dead slow. I had called for multiple days asking if they could do this and they always kept saying the "trophy guy" is always here but you just missed him.

Stopped in as I drove by and caught the owner. It took for what seemed like forever as he went back to look around for something. It sufficed and I offered to pay upfront and have the work done, "Two of these pieces bolted together in all four corners please Sir", I asked.

I'm not quite sure what happened after that but things got weird (and not this is not a prank review). My buddy was there with me; the owner kinda freaked out and talked about not having the parts?? Bro its two pieces of acrylic milled through and counter sinked at all four corners on one (maybe threaded if one wanted) and simple threaded tap (you could even use a hand tool) at all four corners on the other. If I had the raw materials I could have this one in under 5 minutes at my HOUSE.

NO PROBLEM... ME : "Ok that's fine, let me leave the card with you and you can call me when you get the parts and finish it" OWNER: "Oh I prefer not" ME: "Well can you call me when you get the parts in?" OWNER: "Uh, yea we will see if we can find anything".

...cant remember the rest of that weirdness but dang...take my money, so much for trying to support a local business. Had my mask on and everything. Still baffled.

I bought one off of Amazon and it works fine, not the professional quality I had hoped for but it got the job done.

[UPDATE] The shop has posted a response to my review isinuating they have acrylic pieces available as a result of my failure to come by and claim them?!? Did they not read above?! I begged to give you my money and you did not take it, nor did you confirm you would be ordering them NOR did you call or reach out after leaving phone and email with you both via telephone and writing on your physical form in the shop of which I had to request due to your poor organization. It would be best to own up to your mistakes rather than pan them off on people who come to your shop begging to give you money. POOR RESPONSE REFLECTS THE TRUE ATTITUDE OF THIS SHOP. Absolutely...

The sales team was extremely difficult to work with. They were unable to provide a clear quote at any point, only offering a vague estimate of “maybe a hundred to a few hundred dollars.” I was promised a one-week turnaround time, which they failed to meet. I called twice for updates—each time several days apart—and was told the order was still not complete. On the final day, after I let them know I was on my way, I was suddenly told it would be ready within an hour.

The staff was rude and acted as if they were doing me a favor. I always try to support small businesses, but this will be my last purchase with this company. It’s incredibly disappointing to have an order delayed, only to be told they are “rushing to accommodate me” when in reality, they are trying to cover for their sales team's...

The folks at The Trophy Shop were fantastic to work with! The end product came out absolutely exceptional. The extensive options and ease of communication really helped with my particular order.

In addition, needing to order a gift came as a surprise since a colleague had to leave 2 weeks earlier than expected.
