Tried finding a menu online to call it in and pick up my order, but couldn't find one. Since I've ordered a lot in the past, I knew what I wanted but couldn't remember what special it was on the menu, so I called it in. The person on the phone was rude and unreceptive, suggesting that come in and place the order, so I explained I knew what I wanted but I just didn't know what it was on the menu, and we continued to my order. I told her exactly what I was looking for, which was quick and simple, turns out it is their meat with breakfast special, and I added grits. She went to rush me off the phone before I could even get a total, so I asked for the total... when I arrived the total jumped another 4 dollars. The price wasn't the issue. My issue is that this wasn't what was said over the phone, and she was rude when I questioned it and said that it was bc I added grits, tho I didn't add anything after recieving the total, nor was their time being that she rushed me off the phone (after previously telling me it was slow being why I should just come in).
She also had a bad attitude inside and talked trash about the customers ahead of me who were dining in because they were preppy. It was classless and distasteful, and made me uncomfortable.
I waited to check my food till I got home, and first off found that my bagel is burned.
How do you seriously screw up what is literally in the name of your business?! Some so simple as toasting a bagel. Their bagels was what initially turned me to the idea of going to them rather than anywhere else, was for a good warm bagel and some grits.
I haven't gotten to anything else yet, but wanted to take a moment and leave a review of my experience.
I used to love dining with this restaurant, but this may be my last visit. I know perkins was amazing recently, and they always give good service and the breakfast is on point (consistent).
It sucks because I like supporting our local mom n pop businesses here in my hometown and I enjoy both this restaurant's breakfast and dinner specials. But I won't support this type of service, quality,...
Read moreThe food was disappointing. My bagel was over toasted, it was very very very VERY hard and crunchy (maybe it's just an accident, but anyways it was way too hard), and the homefries (unexpectedly they are just potatoes cubes that I think are refried potato shells and some of them are burned) I say shells because the outside of the "fries" have a rubbery texture and they are pretty much empty inside. The egg was not cooked per my request (undercooked). Now, let's talk about the pho. The broth was very blend, watered down. It's also overpriced with the amount of meat they put in the bowl. I ordered the deluxe pho with everything and I got 1/2 of a meat ball only. Lol I have never been to a restaurant that only put half of a meat ball in your pho. (Laughing so hard as I write this). However, if it's your first time trying pho you don't have anything to compare it to, you might not notice how bad it is. But again, it's not a ideal place for pho virgins because it would give you a bad impression for pho. I am very surprised that it has good reviews... like if just one thing is off It could be an accident but the only thing that tasted right was the cream cheese because you just can't go wrong with it. Overall I do not recommend this place if you want legit tasty Asian cuisine. But even the bagels and potatoes were bad lol the pancake smelled good though but I didn't try it so I'm not sure. OK GUYS I'm done, I tried to be as honest as I can to describe my experience at this place. I hope I was just having bad luck and they actually serve good food on other days...and explain why there are so many good reviews...but I don't think I'd come again. ps. the bottle for the Hoisen sauce was so disgusting and I saw a fly crawling on the bagels that they serve. Here are some pictures and...
Read moreI was really excited to try bagels and noodles but unfortunately I won’t be returning. My friends and I ordered when there were fairly few people inside but it became clear that the waiters forgot about our order as everyone around us was getting their food even though they arrived after us. We kept sporadically reminding our waiters every so often and they said it was coming (but it wasn’t). After over an hour, a different waiter advised us to order again. By then, they had sold out of most of the items we ordered which was really frustrating. Another while later, we got our food in extremely bad condition. My friend ordered a knish that was still frozen in the center, and my other friend’s order was wrong despite ordering twice. I didn’t get the type of bagel I asked for. We didn’t really end up eating anything after all that time waiting around. The manager thankfully said we didn’t have to pay for our meal. Other people I know have had good experiences here, so I’m assuming it was a bad day....
