Plaza of The Americas — Attraction in Gainesville

I LOVE this space. It is a green place where people sit together. I went to UF, beginning in May 1985, (Class of 89'.) So, I started in this great park (between the libraries) where Krishna lunch used to be the way I survived. TY🙏! It used to be a sidewalk. It looks like they've paved it, making it wider, and possibly planted bushes!

I think I NEED to go over there, and check it out. They tried building some type of pulpit there, (out of brick and cement😝,) but, we fought them on it, and won. Keeping it green and grass abd trees...nothing else!

Making it so people can't gather and talk, is wrong. The Plaza of The Americas WAS an amazing place. I hope🙏it still is.

It needs to ALWAYS be kept green grass, and trees, and NEVER have anything...

It is a big, grassy area in the northeast corner of the main University of Florida campus. As campus features go, it can be very pleasant when the weather is cooperative, frequently populated by students tossing Frisbees and other outdoor pursuits. It also is a site for "cause" oriented displays and outdoor addresses and readings.
