I'm fairly new to this area and asked for recommendations for framing from 3 different people, and they all suggested Hector. Located next to Leonardo's 706, they were easy to find. I called first to let them know what I was bringing in so they could give me a hand unloading the car, and Hector met me at the door and helped me bring in 5 good-sized original paintings.
Hector immediately recognized the badly framed (not the original frame...though tbh, those were pretty bad, too!) Harold Newton Highwayman painting I brought, and helped me find a gorgeous wood frame that I would never have put with it myself. Now that it's hung and properly lit, I can't get over the final result and that was strictly all Hector and his experienced eye. SO pleased.
I had more of an idea for the other pieces, all by local artists, three new pieces and one terribly outdated with an 80's-ish washed oak frame, and Hector steered me right on all of them. The difference good framing makes can't be overstated.
Turnaround was faster than I expected and much more reasonable than in other towns I've lived in.
I won't bring artwork anywhere else now. Thank...
Read moreI am in the process of preparing an exhibition of photographs from my photo book entitled Shadows of Emmett Till. After selecting twenty images for my first exhibition, I went to talk with Hector about options. Hector is a photographer by training and has been in the framing business for many years.
During our initial discussion, he provided great insight into all things framing including the difference in using plexiglass versus glass, options with mats, should the mat be cut before or after the images are in his hands, the advantages, and disadvantages of various types of frames, and why it is important to have the back of the framed images sealed.
He encouraged me to make decisions that would fit best for my exhibition, all the while helping me understand the impact of those decisions in the short and long term. Hector is professional, knowledgeable, and offers a wide variety of options for framing. I am very pleased with the work that he and Andrew (his assistant) did. I will not hesitate to use them again...
