Porter Vacation Rental Management - Texas — Attraction in Galveston

SAND DOLLAR SHORE I drove down to Galveston to speak with someone in person about my up coming rental. Only to find out that this company is based out of Azorina. I could only speak to someone over phone. However i stayed at Sand Dollar Shores this year ,This stay was a Nightmare from HELL, checked in on a Thursday, From the minute I turned on the stove, ROACHES came out the wood works. I called the maintenance number No Answer , called again left another message, they sent a text stating that someone would be by within an hour, no One came, then I get a text asking if there was bug spray underneath the sink, then I was told Noone could come out til next Day,No one showed are called , I had to go purchase bug spray to keep ROCHES AT Bay, LOOKED IN Oven to find OLD POTATOES that were left , Which tells me No one cleaned , and there was mold just above windows seals, Sink had a bowl underneath the caught water,which had mold as well. The silverware they left for use was garbage we couldn't use it. THE PLASTIC WARE I PURCHASED WAS ALOT BETTER. PROPERTY MANAGER ERICA showed up on Sat, She was really nice. She was very apologetic, She had maintenance come out to Fix , the sink plumbing, I WAS STILL SICK TO MY STOMACH FROM ROACHES, MOLD, Rotten potatoes left in oven. I DIDN'T PAY MY MONEY TO HAVE TO KILL ROCHES ARE RECLEAN. ROACHES EVERY WHERE. Also water in bathroom sink didn't drain properly. The Only way I could prepare food was outside on grill which I also I had to clean. I WAS TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED AND DISSATISFIED with this RENTAL. Only giving one star because otherwise it wouldn't let me post. HATE I COULDN'T...

I would give 0 stars if I could. Had to pay-up front for a pack and play for an infant that was NOT at the home when we checked in. (Ended up buying one at Walmart.) Pool had green algae everywhere the second day we were there; bought 2# of shock myself and it didn’t help. Pool guy came next day and put in 3# of liquid chlorine, so pool was unusable for hours. Next night toilets wouldn’t flush and sewage was coming out of the master shower drain and the clean out outside by the pool. Was told that they couldn’t get a plumber there at 9 PM, which is BS because there are 24 hour plumbers. Guy was finally there at noon the next day and said the line was definitely plugged, so he snaked it at the clean out and poop water and toilet paper was all over the walkway to where we had to park the vehicles. He tried to wash it off as best he could, but it was beyond gross! Communication with this company is HORRIBLE after you check in. I’m still waiting for my $40 refund of the pack and play. I asked for some compensation for the inconvenience, not to mention unsanitary conditions of the pool and the plumbing issue. They offered $150, which, again, I’m still waiting for. Not holding my breath. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT RENT FROM SOMEONE WHO USES THIS COMPANY AS THEIR MANAGEMENT COMPANY! We rented The White Pelican. It saddens us to write a review like this. We’ve stayed at Casa de la Sirena for 5 years now. It is not taken care of like it was with Soar Vacation Mgmt. Last Sept. ‘24 we arrived to find the storm blinds in den would not open. Called StayPorter. Said would send someone out. Did not! A year later, Sept. ‘25, still do not open. They do now state that the storm blinds do not open. So we knew going down this year. But why after a year has it not been fixed. We take my 90 & 91 year old parents for their Anniversary. They & us as a family grew up coming to Galveston, honeymooned in Galveston! Also, front door code lock had been removed. Left a whole which was stuffed with a wad of paper. Floor coming up in places, exposed ceiling fan wires in master, shower knob loose, human hair on a bath towel, toilet runs constantly. Sadly we will not be staying at Casa de la Sirena nor will we go thru StayPorter Mgmt. Thank you...
