I want to know what your plans are about the water quality . Are you going to put in a opening from the Boise river by the under ground tunnel which flundes every year ? And have some kind of over pass over the main road and maybe a little park or training course for kids base ball or soccer fields , and a protected surrounded place with water and bath room's . You would have to plant like soon kind of tree's and clean up and replant something else on the other side of the channel to keep the public safe and the area clean and nice ! It allows needs to be more water flow through the main pound in a Y formation in to the back to ponds with hydraulic pump's pulling and pushing water to the other miney little great lakes . And opening's in the back lakes that flow back in to the river and board walk's all through out the back areas with natural veagation and fishing access with docks and float device rampes ? And maybe a Kia ake training course in the back drainage dam area that is all added together in one nice big water facility ? And what about the low income housing on the other side of the road by the holtel some of that needs to be fixed up and the housing authority needs to build a park or something for the people and the kid's to be safe to play at or training course for them to learn how to operate vehicle's at or a water park or something else like a commitmenty garden ! And the rest of the city is starting to look really good !!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep up the great work I would like Boise ID to be the best place for people to really feel at home !!!!! We need a lot better user friendly lights and the path around the fire tower and monument needs to be fixed up and replanted and dune in concrete insteand if assfalt all the way to the monument at the library !!!!!!!!!! And their needs to be a path from the bridge we're people jump off by the golf course on warm springs all the way up to Barbara park with fishing access , because the other side of the river is foot traffic on some parts , and the path on the other side needs to be dune in concrete insteand of assfalt because it is unsafe for traivle ! And maybe a bike track by the drug center by Albertsons walking park and fishing for little kids and maybe a little play ground for kids , all of the thing's that I have suggested need police supper video camera's to watch or them to keep them safe from crime , or I will leave that up to a vote of the people for the...
Read moreWe live in Oregon City and our crew are avid whitewater kayakers. We just today visited the Boise, ID Whitewater Park / Esther Simplot Park & Boise Water Sports. We are seriously impressed. There were hundreds of people there enjoying the river/pond areas. There was a boat rental shop as well as a place to purchase food. This development has taken over 11 years to get through the red tape and the water features have been open for the past 4 years. It is totally boosting the community and economy of the area as well as drawing support for the community as it was set up as a private funded and donated to organization. There are still many areas that are currently being developed and expanded and they look wonderful. What was once a landfill and quarry is now a gorgeous economic boosting gathering spot! Absolutely mind blowing, top-notch developers have planned this park. It is the jewel of Boise. I only hope and pray that Oregon City's eye-sores along the Willamette can be turned into the same beauty and recreational opportunities that Boise Whitewater park has done. Excellent Job Boise you are to...
Read moreEsther Simplot Park is an 55-acre site encompassing approximately 23 acres of ponds suitable for fishing, kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, floating and swimming. Park amenities include open play areas, trails, sandy beaches, wetlands, bridges, two shelters or pavilion which can be reserved, Friendship Island, a playground and clean restrooms.
The connection between the Esther Simplot pond, Quinn's pond and the Boise river provides the main features for water sports. There is a safety swimming line in the pond which is good for the kids or someone who is learning swimming.
You can have picnic in weekends here. Usually this place very crowded, so you should go early to get a place to sit and keep your things. Cycling through the trails is another activity that you can enjoy. The view and recreational activities will make your trip worthwhile.
Since this park is just beside two other parks - Bernardine Quinn Riverside Park and Boise Whitewater Park, I would say you can enjoy the place...
