I wish more cities would do this on their rivers .it's not affecting anything and it's creating a fun atmosphere for people when the natural situation doesn't work. I'll be honest, The green belt at Boise is fake .it's what there is for real in Washington and Idaho and Oregon and many other areas but has been replicated because it didn't exist before. The lakes and streams all are dead there's not much wildlife but it's still very welcome. Without the rehabilitation to this area it would still be a wasteland. I see some disrespect by the different types of users everybody needs to coexist. Nobody deserves any more rights than any other group, Understand this and everyone can get along easily. Be respectful of property owners but as a property owner understand that you don't own rights to anything beyond your Borders, Not even the air, the view ,or the sound that comes into your ears. The surfing waves are spectacular and really should be done anywhere it can be without affecting nature. There could be so many of these to where there wouldn't be lineups of people waiting to have fun. If we spent more money on things like this instead of TV's The world would be a better place. Bring your board, rent one Or borrow one from some new buddy. Don't be safe just be smart. If you're not used to cold water wear a wet suit. Help out others if you see trouble, But understand that you should be self-sufficient. Don't make the government have to police anything. Government hear this stop lying to people about policing that isn't happening, Yet you're threatening that it is. Most of all just have fun and enjoy nature whether it's...
Read moreWas invited to join friends for a BBQ and bags here. Had never been before, and I couldn't find quinns pond on any search engine. Got sent a dropped pin, drove that way and arrived to see a sea of people and cars. Drove alongside 45 or 50 other vehicles looking for that one spot to open up. I finally broke out of the line of cars into an exit after about 20 minutes. Nobody got a parking spot. I think there is nature here, but I couldn't tell, it was busier than the third of July on lake Michigan. Busier than Huntington Beach in June. Busier than the sistine chapel on ash Wednesday. I have never seen a nature reserve be more exploited by a population. I can only imagine the damage that is being done to this environment. While I was driving away, I thought about Boise and its lack of infrastructure. I live 3.6 miles from this place and couldn't bike there. Gotta drive my silverado and look...
Read moreBoise Whitewater Park is adjacent to Esther Simplot Park. The park offers observation places, seating on rocks and benches, trails, pavilion and clean restrooms. The park is suitable for kayaking, canoeing, stand up paddle boarding, floating, surfing and swimming.
You can have picnic in weekends here. Usually this place very crowded, so you should go early to get a place to sit and keep your things. Cycling through the trails is another activity that you can enjoy. The water is usually really cool, so get ready to feel chilly. The parking lot is first come first served.
The view and recreational activities will make your trip worthwhile. Since this park is just beside two other parks- Esther Simplot Park and Bernardine Quinn Riverside Park, I would say you can enjoy the place...
