Tucked away in the heart of Boise, ID, The Stagecoach Inn is more than just a place to eat—it's a journey through time, steeped in history and culinary excellence. As one of the city's oldest establishments, this restaurant has been serving patrons for decades, preserving its charm while offering some of the best steaks I've ever tasted. From the moment you walk through the doors, you're greeted with a warm, nostalgic ambiance that reflects the restaurant's storied past. The decor is a perfect blend of vintage elegance and comfort, with rich wooden furnishings, antique light fixtures, and walls adorned with photographs and memorabilia that tell the story of the restaurant's heritage. It's the kind of place where every corner whispers tales of the past, making it as much a museum as it is a dining venue. But the true star of this restaurant is undoubtedly the steak. Cooked to perfection, each bite melts in your mouth, bursting with flavor that can only come from top-quality cuts of meat expertly prepared by chefs who know their craft. Whether you prefer your steak rare or well-done, they get it just right every time, with a sear that locks in the juices and a seasoning that enhances the meat without overpowering it. It's no wonder this place has earned a reputation for serving the best steak in town. Adding to the experience is the incredibly friendly and attentive staff. From the moment you're seated, you're made to feel like a valued guest. The servers are knowledgeable, eager to recommend the best dishes, and genuinely invested in ensuring you have an unforgettable dining experience. Their warmth and professionalism are the perfect complement to the restaurant's historic charm. In summary, Stagecoach Inn is more than just a restaurant—it's a culinary institution. With its impeccable steaks, inviting atmosphere, and stellar service, it's a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in a bit of history and a lot of flavor. Whether you're a local or just passing through, make sure to add this gem to your list of dining destinations.

My friends and I dined at Stagecoach on Friday night, expecting a great experience as we have had in the past. After a few cocktails, my friend decided to make the responsible decision and leave her car in the parking lot and come back for it in the morning. When we returned the next day, we were shocked to find that her car had been towed, and multiple other cars in the lot had boots on them (photos attached). When she went inside to ask the employees why her car was towed, she received nothing but inconsistent answers. No one could give her a straight response, and now she’s stuck paying $500 to get her car back from the towing company. The parking signs clearly state "For Stagecoach Customers Only," but apparently, even after dining there, that’s not enough. It’s truly disappointing to see what’s become of this once-beloved restaurant. Stagecoach has been a staple for generations, but ever since it was sold, it’s no longer the same. The food isn’t what it used to be, and the entire experience left a bad taste in our mouths — both figuratively and literally. Needless to say, Stagecoach has become the new Boot Barn, and we will not be dining here again.

We were craving steak the other night and our normal steakhouse had an extremely long wait. So, I saw Stagecoach on the list with a good rating. We've driven by many times and from the outside, we didn't think much of it. We arrived and I went to check wait time...15 min was what the hostess said. So I was letting my husband know when the manager (at least I believe it was) stepped out and said if we didn't mind, they had a booth in the bar area. So, we took it. Surprisingly, the place is way bigger and nicer than we expected. Our waiter was very attentive and the food was pretty good. My husband had never had Roquefort Dressing (a hard to find selection) on a salad so he enjoyed that new taste. I had their Ribeye Steak and my husband had the Porterhouse Steak...both of us had the Loaded Baked Potato with our steak. I will say they were not the best steaks we've eaten but, they were good. We did notice however, other meals being delivered to other patrons and we will certainly be back to try out different menu items. Our service was great and they made us feel welcome from the get go!

UPDATE: Thanks for giving me the same empty stock response about your "seven signs" :) It's very clear you do not actually read your reviews or care what people are saying. I hope the people who actually DO read these reviews avoid your business like the plague.

Some negative reviews seem to disappearing For Some Reason so who knows if this will remain up, but the way this business runs their parking lot is heinous. I called and was rudely told that there were something like "six signs" indicating it was a private parking lot. Every single car in the lot was booted - you mean to tell me that many people missed that many CLEAR signs? Other reviewers are saying there is a single tiny sign indicating private property which is clearly not adequate if true. I was parked there for maximum 2 hours as well so who knows how quickly they booted my vehicle - they did not seem to be discriminatory with how they booted. I was not allowed to take my car until I paid $200 which was billed to some private company I cannot find any information on (update: I contacted this business, TnT Boot Services, via the email on my PayPal statement and the person who replied to me was in my opinion extremely rude, obtuse, and condescending, referring to drivers as "entitled," implying I should be lucky I was only forced to pay $200 when they could have charged more, implied they may be suing people for "slander" who speak up about this issue, and completely ignoring my concerns about proper signs. With how he spoke to me and if what other people have said in their reviews regarding this issue is true, and how this has affected actual paying customers, I highly doubt that the patrons are the "entitled" party. I also repeat that it was seemingly most if not every car in the lot. If there are not clear enough signs, those people cannot all be "entitled").

Going through the reviews this has seemingly happened to dozens of other people including paying and loyal customers (again, almost every single car in the lot appeared to be booted earlier, so they seem to be doing this indiscriminately), and the most the business can muster up is a stock response which disregards the concerns and experiences of their own customers. Absolutely shameful, and in my opinion harmful to the businesses around them.

Do not give them your patronage. If they are so concerned about losing money or business, that is on them to run their business and their parking better, not the rest of us. The only entitled party in this situation, in my opinion, is the Stagecoach Inn's management and the company they contract to boot people. I have NEVER had a company or business treat me this way or see them treat others this way. God knows how many other people they've done this to. Do not go anywhere near this resturaunt. The fact they still have a customer base at all, with how they seem to talk to people and treat people, is frankly astounding. I wish the best for the surrounding businesses, their customers do not deserve to be treated...

My family and I have been patrons of The Stagecoach for approximately 50 years. It was always the restaurant we chose for all special occasions, and frequent out of town guests were always treated at The Stagecoach. I was a teen when my parents started taking us to your restaurant, sometimes as much as once a week. We loved the food, the waitresses and the ambiance of the restaurant. My daughter just told me of her experience in which her car was booted for parking in an adjacent lot, and she was forced to pay $200 to get the boot off. I'm so extremely furious about this. How can you dare do this despicable act to patrons? You should think about who you may be insulting. I will never ever return! As a side note...my family started going back to The Stagecoach after the change of ownership. The quality has gone way down. The salads which used to have slivered almonds now have sunflower seeds. The rolls used to be delicious sourdough rolls. Not anymore. Without telling her why, we asked the owner about the recipes which would've come with the buying of the restaurant, or so we thought. We were told that they would've had to buy the recipes separately so instead of buying them, they were "winging it." We wanted to tell her they needed to buy them. All of us who had steaks were in shock at how flavorless they were. I always choose the tenderloin tips (kebabs) and if it hadn't been for the gravy I don't think I could have eaten them. It didn't matter what type of steak, they were all completely flavorless. One thing to know about meat, is without seasoning it's simply a flavorless piece of food. None had any flavor from seasoning, not even a touch of salt and pepper. And the prices have gone way up, too. So I'm actually glad that I won't return. By the way, I think you should try the steaks at Golden Corral. They're delicious and seasoned beautifully. Even they have better steak than...
