I absolutely adore Amber, the owner at Fort Builder, and everything about the space that she's created for co-workers and the community.
Fort Builder Collister is beautiful, fresh, and new — it encourages productivity every time I go. Whether you need a structured work bench, a seat at a table, room to soak up the sunshine outside, or space to curl up on a couch, Fort Builder has the options to make your work comfortable. And don't even get me started on how nice the kitchen is!
I've attended one of Fort Builder's hosted concerts in the open garden and event space behind the building. It was intimate, warm, and inviting, and it made for the perfect relaxing night out with family and friends.
This location is also a gorgeous space for hosting your own events. We held my baby shower at Fort Builder, and Amber was amazing. Ahead of time, she made sure we had everything we needed for the event to go off without a hitch. Amber was also available for us during the shower, in case anything went awry or questions came up. Everyone who attended commented on how much they loved the space! It's a gem hiding in plain sight on...
Read moreI needed a place to work while the roof on our house was being replaced. Fort Builder was perfect! Amber was very accommodating and flexed with my changing schedule and made me feel welcome. The space is bright and open, yet also has a warm feeling that doesn't make it feel sterile or industrial like some offices. There is a conference room and two private rooms for video calls, or when you need to focus on something without distractions. It's stocked with office supplies, a printer, plenty of outlets, and a full kitchen with beverages and snacks. I took advantage of the window seat to read through some documents and soak up the sun. Magnificent artwork is everywhere you look, and it makes you feel inspired to be creative during your time there - no matter what type of work you do. I can't wait to experience some of the future events and see what the garden beds produce this year. I'm excited for this addition to the neighborhood and highly recommend this new cowork and event space. Check it out - you won't be...
Read moreLast week I had some electrical work done at home which required killing the power for almost 8 hours. As I work from a tiny office in my backyard -- I had to scramble to find a place to work for the day. Thankfully, a friend reminded me about Oliver Russell's downtown coworking space.
I booked a desk for the day (at a super affordable rate) late the night before and the next morning drove downtown, parked (for free) right outside the building and walked in to find plenty of open/ COVID-safe space, a large desk, comfortable chair, free coffee, snacks, fast wifi and access to private office space and conference rooms.
If you're working from home in Boise and looking to get our of your house every once and while, traveling through the city — or looking for space to host a holiday party -- do yourself a favor and check out Fort Builder.
Next week, you'll find me working a day from their second location on Collister.
Thanks to the co-founders Russ Stoddard and Amber Lawless for creating such a...
