I've been coming to this place for years now, and always left feeling so much better than when I came in. They were inexpensive, and very good, always had a great amount of pressure and everything, a great place for us to go to when we could swing it for our chronic neck and back pain. The one or two times they didn't have enough force behind their massages, a gentle "hey could you go a little harder?" And they'd adjust accordingly. Well that changed. I wanted to do something special, and had a couples massage for me and my mate. Both our massage therapists were basically just petting us the whole time. I asked if my therapist could go a little harder, and she did, for a couple minutes. Then she got distracted by her colleague and went back to petting me with one hand. I'm honestly fine if you guys are talking (though I could see how others wouldn't care for it), but they kept getting distracted with each other, gesturing and talking and just kind of forgetting what they were doing. Even the hot rocks, which are always the best part of the massage, were just kinda wiped over our bodies without any kind of force behind them. At the end of the massage when they left us to get dressed, we both just kind of looked at each other and said almost at the same time, "what the heck was that?" It was so different from our usual experience there we couldn't really believe it. And to top it off, the guy at checkout all but demanded I leave them a big tip. Normally I give a nice healthy one (25-30%, depending on what I can spare at the time), this time I was going to give them a smaller one (10-15%) to reflect the very disappointing massages we got. And just to add insult to the injury, by the time we got home (a couple miles away), we were both in more pain than when we went there. Given that their prices have gone up by a good 30% or so since I first started coming here, it certainly isn't worth it to get an oil bath with some petting. I don't know what the heck changed, but get it together guys. We were so disappointed this time around, I don't know if I'll be back. I almost never write a bad review, but this time really warranted it. The only reason they got two stars is because they used to be really good, especially for the price (I honestly thought I had left them a five star...
Read moreWe had an excellent couples massage experience for Valentines day. Easily booked it through their booksy website; got a confirmation email immediately, a reminder text 24 hours before, and received a call the morning of as well which I definitely appreciated. NOTE: The service sign are their 'Cash' prices - there are service charges for using your credit card! ($1-$2 for individual massages and $5 for couples massage)
Yes, its a small space with only a few private rooms and a more public chair in the hallway for chair massage therapy ~ but it's very well maintained, clean and cared for space. It was busy but organized - we only had to wait a few minutes for the couples massage room to be cleaned from previous clients who were finishing up as we arrived.
In the few minutes we were in the waiting area we actually witnessed other clients leaving, as well as the employees stripping the used linens from the rooms and replacing with fresh crisp linens (you can see some of the white sheets peeking out from the first room in one of my photos - dirty sheets that were from the previous client go on the floor so they don't cross contaminate with the fresh ones - the same thing hotels do.)
We were shortly shown to the couples massage room. The tables were plush and heated, the room had lovely low lighting (linens were actually purple in the couples room vs the white in the single rooms) it was a nice touch that added to the ambience.
I also appreciated the fact that massage therapists were so thorough: back, neck, front, arms, hands, legs, and feet - even a mini scalp massage at one point along with the heated stones. The massage oils smelled lovely and honestly at the end of the hour I felt like well kneaded bread dough. They even had a cute box of valentines chocolates and two mini bottles of water for us at the front desk at the end.
Definitely recommend it - you can't beat it for price, level of service,...
Read moreI was not as happy with my massage as I thought I would be. There was a man talking very loudly in the hallway right outside our door and i heard his whole conversation halfway through my massage. My therapist did not use the face rest on the table so i had my neck turned to the left for majority of the massage instead of laying straight on the face rest. It was very uncomfortable. She did not massage my feet which is a part of the full body massage. I told her i wanted to start my massage on my back first and she kept telling me to turn over acting like she didn’t understand English. Then when it was time to pay the lady kept asking me about a tip. I asked was a tip mandatory because i didn’t want to leave a tip. I wasn’t that impressed. She asked three more times im like wth. Why do people feel entitled to tips? Tips are for great service. If I didn’t receive great service I am not rewarding you with a tip. She did a job and she got paid for that job tips are for being great at that job and making me want to return. That was not the case here. I would...
