Georgetown Community Center — Attraction in Georgetown

This is a very nice and spacious venue located in the heart of the San Gabriel Park in Georgetown. It is not a fancy place or really upscale, but it is a clean well-kept community center environment that is great for educational, trade gatherings, family parties and celebrations and etc. I have attended event here several times over the past decade and it's always been clean and well kept. It has ample bathroom and kitchen facility along with a generally bright feeling and high ceilings. One thing I have heard people who hosted events here say, is that it takes a lot of decorations to make an impact on such a large room! Understandable of course.

I would definitely recommend this place for a large gathering of family or friends or hosting something for a trade show or organization. Like I said it's not super fancy but it's clean and well kept. The parking has never been an issue and I've attended an event that has about 250 people there. There is also a sunken garden out in front that a lot of people comment on and enjoy. Great place for my church, St John's United Methodist, to have our annual Harvest Fest the first week and in October. Wonderful place for a large event as or accommodates a huge number of people. The kitchen is really large with room for many people to be preparing food at one time. Adequate refrigeration space, 2 large ovens, and a commercial gas range. There's lots of space for a craft show, bake sale, vendors, silent auction, live auction, entertainment, and many tables to accommodate hundreds for our turkey dinner. There is an outdoor pit which is perfect for keeping our turkey warm. There's also an area on the side of the building for us to set up a drive-thru. The center was remodeled and updated several years ago.There are 2 restroom areas. Lighting is very good. Air conditioning was great for our 90+ Saturday. Nice facility owned and operated...

I attended a young lady’s debut in Georgetown Community Center this weekend. Debutante Cassie was all glam-pretty in red. It was a lovely evening and the venue made it a lovelier event. The center has a large hall that can sufficiently gather more than 250 persons or even a lot more. It has an inviting feel to it and, when beautifully decorated, it creates a stunning and elegant ambiance. Its kitchen area is large; it is equipped with stove, commercial refrigerator and a long stainless steel prep table. Chairs and tables are available. Two things that can possibly add value to the center when added are ice maker and projection/sound system.

I highly recommend this center. Just be prepared, though, to bring all in, including of course sound system, projector and everything in between. And, oh, don’t...
