This dog park is a nice setting and there is a ton of area for you dog to roam around. It’s great to see the dogs playing and seeing how happy there. Unfortunately, like any dog park there are going to be uptight dog owners who have never actually studied dogs. People who actually don’t realize that dogs are animals. You’ll see dogs getting into it with either trying to figure out who is more dominant ( normal dog behavior) and then an ignorant dog owner will freak out and start yelling at you because your dog got the upper hand on theirs. You’ll see people there who walk around with there dog on a leash the entire time they are there, which jeopardizes the safety of that dog and others because it’s afraid it can’t defend itself and will often attack and bite another dog coming near it. You’ll see parents bring their toddlers who can barely walk let them walk around just waiting to get barrel rolled by a huge dog running full speed, and you know they will get mad at you because your dog did that to them, at the dog park. People just aren’t very bright folks, so come here at your own risk. I’ve met some great people here and have had some enjoyable moments but too many times I’ve had to leave early because of air headed ignorant dog owners and will not go...
Read moreOK. Here's the deal. I go every Sunday with my 3 dogs. It's a HUGE park for the big dogs and a MUCH smaller area for the little ones. Here are the problems. Being so large, people find it difficult to keep up with their dogs and may not watch them as closely as they should. Then, because the small dog section is' too small', small dogs that have no business in the big dog part can and do get injured. Finally, there is a guy that brings an RC car to the park and riles up the big dogs. He sits in the small section with his tiny pupper so they can't actually get to it. The problem with getting the big dogs all excited is they start chasing the car back and forth at the fence and it causes fights between the big dogs. There is water at the park that your lg dogs can get into and an agility area. Nice park overall with lots of shade. No problems with that or the dogs, just...
Read moreWonderful, safe, and vast area for your pup to run around and socialize! My husband and I take our quasi-French bulldog here every weekend. We go so often that we have started seeing dogs we remember from last time and build a kind of community with the pups and their owners— “regulars”, if you will.
There are three water stations to hose down muddy dog paws or your pups fresh water after the running and let’s be honest, sprinting, they will do. The entire park is fenced in so you won’t have to worry about dogs running into the streets or parking lot. The park is filled with pecan trees so during the fall and winter when they fall from the tree, the floor is covered with them. Something to keep in mind since pecans can be poisonous to dogs when eating excessive amounts.
Overall a a charming and practical little park in the heart of a charming...
