We traveled here early on Father's Day, expecting things to be quite busy, but it had almost the perfect amount of beachgoers! It was $10 for a day pass to get on the island, and very easy to reach this beach. My favorite part: PLENTY of parking, and plenty of space for bases, or a truck and camper like I had. The beach access point had a simple yet pretty walk through the protected dunes, and had excellent restrooms right at the beginning of the access point. There was plenty of opportunity for nature watching, with beach crabs and sand dollars around, and pelicans fishing, and different types of fish jumping out of the water, one only feet away from me. It wasn't crowded, there was plenty of parking, a good amount of picnic tables, and the bathroom/changing room area had cold AC, which was awesome after being out in the sun.
