This was my first escape room experience and I was there with a young man with autism who has done a ton of escape rooms before. First I'd like to say the room was really cool and lots of the clues were set up in good places so you could find what you needed. I think if it weren't the two of us it would have been much easier, but there were some things that made it very difficult. The lighting was way too low for the amount of clues that involved reading small print and looking at photos on the wall (we were trying to save a space ship, forget the name of the room). At one point I was trying to balance the cell phone flashlight with the clip board when I was trying to figure out the math on a code, but then I had to flash the light up to read the 4 step clues to which numbers when where in the code. At this point I asked if he could just turn the light on. We finally got the first 2 parts of the ship fixed, and think we had a half hour left. I went to work on the map which involved transparencies. I asked if there was a clue in the room that indicated which way one of them went on (without giving up the contents of the room, it is the one with red on it)(also there were two of them). The guide said there wasn't, which meant I had to guess or try it every way. With the other pages and all the ways you could turn them, there were so many variables. I gave up and went to another station. I just think the room is too hard...
Read moreI want to leave 2 stars because of my level of disappointment. I will leave 3 as a fair review because this place had a great room. The concept of cell block and design was interesting but unfortunately, it was not excuted well. We love escape rooms! I wanted such a better experience. The owner over the phone was great and so was our game master! I will not disclose specifics of the room, but I will ask that cell block get an upgrade. Our disappointment came when we physically could not obtain our next clue. This step wasted about 1/3 of our play time, ending just before we were able to finish. This was discouraging and we feel we wasted a great deal of money on a disappointment. This step makes you want to throw in the towel as it is not a mental challenge but a physical barrier. While we were in our room, we couldn't focus on solving it due to the loud group next door to us. If the problem in cell block has even a small adjustment, this could be a great game. I would not play it if there is anyone else in the building as even the most quiet team can be heard through the walls causing a huge distraction while working through cellblocks engaging clues. A few upgrades will go a long...
Read moreHorrible experience. Scheduled at 11:00 am for 2 pm. Got there and they will not let the teenagers, who are 16 stay alone. They are saying I have to sit and wait. When asked for a refund as I do not have time to sit there they said they need 24 hour notice. Excuse me, how can I give 24 hour notice when I booked at 11am the same day. They said we can reschedule; we live an hour away and this was not something we could come do again. Their policy is not clearly stated in their website it’s hidden in the FAQs page. Then when said it’s on the confirmation after we paid, well how does that help when the confirmation went to the teenager who bought the tickets and you can’t get a refund. Not to mention when the tickets were purchased only 4 with the 17 and under were purchased; doesn’t that give you a hint that they are under 18. I can take my teenager to Sunsplash and drop off but not here. Also, there was no online waiver to sign. A waiver was not given till we arrived. Ridiculous HORRIBLE...
