Las Animas Park - Veterans Park — Attraction in Gilroy

This is a pretty good park. Gilroy doesn't have a whole lot going on, but it has some nice parks. I regret not taking pictures, sorry. Multiple illuminated tennis courts and handball courts, basketball court, skate park, group picnic area, multiple restrooms, two baseball fields, two playgrounds and a dog park in addition to multiple restrooms, BBQ grills, and water fountains. Honestly in a little town like Gilroy, what more could you ask for. One more basketball court would be nice... If you want to have a bag party and the picnic area is already reserved you might want to look at Christmas Hill Park, another excellent...

Nice park with 3 different playgrounds, dog park, skate park, basketball courts, tennis courts, handball courts, baseball fields, reservable picnic areas some with sinks and power and other picnic areas that are first come first serve. There are also 2 sets of restrooms and trails for walking or biking. There is plenty of open space for kids to play and have fun and in a relatively quiet area with not a lot of traffic. Also plenty of space for soccer and 3-4 different parking lots and lots of spots to park on the street! Great place for birthday parties or family...

Very nice park for all kinds of activities. The park itself is 5 stars. The administration for the park is 1 star. There is a concrete skate park that seems to be very popular among teenagers. There is a 5 and under playground that is great for toddlers. The only downside in 2020 is that the city has destroyed the baseball fields in order to force social distancing, and they have put fences up around the playgrounds when the county is in the more restrictive tiers.
