On the 25th, I paid for and booked a horse ride for the 26th, for me and my wife. since the 26th is our anniversary, the first year after marriage. and I decided that this day was supposed to be special and romantic. and that's why I prepared such a surprise for my wife. our horseback ride was booked for one o'clock on June 26, but in the morning my wife felt unwell and became ill. and we decided to go to the doctor, it turned out that my wife was pregnant. we were very happy about this, but the doctor forbade any sudden movements or jolts, since there is a threat of miscarriage at an early stage. after the hospital, we went to the place where our horseback riding was supposed to start. we arrived there and I decided to explain it as it is and told the reason why we can’t go horseback riding, because my wife and unborn child are very important to me. i asked for a refund or postpone our trip or even offered to give a travel voucher so i could give it to my brother and his wife. but the employee most likely called the manager and said that they could not do anything. since the cancellation of the reservation had to be 24 hours before the start of the skiing. I once again tried to explain the situation that I did not have time for this, and even more so it was an unexpected big surprise for us, so we could not do anything in advance. but apparently the reputation of this company is worth only $ 100, they did not want to help me in this situation and compromise, and that is why I do not recommend this place to anyone, since I rate the service they give from 1-5 and put you -0. learn to appreciate and respect your guests, because if you think that we are not guests but customers of your establishment, then...
Read moreThere were three of us total that went on this excursion. We weren't placed in a group with three others. We did not know and had two guides with us. We did the hour and a half long skyline ride. The guides told us they had had no measurable rain since April and it was quite Dusty! I recommend if you don't have a bandana or other face covering you buy a bandana from them before you go so that you can cover your nose and mouth. If you are not the front of the line on your horse, you will be eating dust the whole way. Don't let that deter you! There's plenty of the trail that's out in the sun. If you don't wear sunglasses, consider using one of their helmets as it has a small brim for sun. If you don't like helmets, you may want to consider wearing a hat or buying one of the many colors of hats that they sell that are branded. They will make sure that everyone in the group feels comfortable and knows how to sit, hold the reins, hold their feet, etc. In our group there were one experienced Rider, two good riders, one that said she was at beginning level, and one who was a first-timer. I'm not sure about the other one. I think she had been on a few touristy rides as well. All of us made it safely up and down the tall hills of Hollywood and enjoyed our time. If I would do this again, I would probably try a different ride such as their sunset ride or the wildflower ride. There's definitely lots of History to be had. Don't be afraid to ask the...
Read moreI’m a complete, total horse riding noob and wanted to give it a go whilst in LA. Scared but definitely had to try to conquer the fear!
Spent the last few days researching a stable that would accommodate a horse-riding virgin and settled with LA Horse Rentals over some of nearbuy places (due to the good reviews)
However, it’s been a bit of a mixed experience overall, good but not quite 5 stars!
THE GOOD: Friendly staff and lovely horses that were generally calm and a good price ($25 for 30 mins / $30 for an hour).
Good for beginners - I was super nervous so settled on 30 mins, but regret not going for a hour! Got over the nerves quickly as the horses were super lovely.
THE BAD: Disorganised, sadly. Waited about 15/20 mins to be seen.
Minimal instructions for a beginner - luckily another rider spoke Spanish to the staff to let them know we were beginner riders.
The tour guide was friendly / took photos but was on his phone at whole way - which made me a bit nervous for a first timer at the start!
OVERALL: I’d give it a good 3 or 4 out of 5 - it’s more a 4, but the lack of organisation is concerning. The ride is good, staff friendly, but just needed someone to tie it all together in English - perhaps it was because it was early afternoon on a Monday and not summer holidays - but still!
Thanks to all the team for making the ride a fun one, will hopefully be...
