The Hydrangea Inn — Attraction in Gloucester

I booked through Hotels.com, and immediately after booking I started receiving messages that looked like spam. I didn't answer them for that reason, and the next day I called the inn. It turns out that Hydrangea Inn incorrectly posted their availability on Hotels.com. The owner did book us a stay at a similar placeas she was fully booked, but we were put up in the smallest room in Castle Manor Inn, not reflective of what we paid for. On top of that, she asked me to try and get reimbursed through Hotels.com for an error she made. After a couple of attempts trying to work with Hotels, I realized I put way more effort than I should have to fixing an error I didn't make. One week after our stay I am still receiving texts from the host asking to get reimbursed from Hotels.com so we can pay her back for the stay at Castle Manor Inn. What a magical experience! Miss Joanie is such a lovely hostess. Her home is absolutely gorgeous, spacious, and so clean! We needed all the rooms and we were incredibly blessed at her willingness to accommodate, especially last minute. She took my allergies very serious and provided a breakfast that I could enjoy with my family. Her home is literally a minute walk to the beach and a two minute walk to the Fishermen’s Wife Memorial and the Fisherman Memorial. I can’t express in adequate words just how truly amazing the experience was. We will definitely be back. Miss Joanie is a genuine soul who truly goes above and beyond for her guests. The Hydrangea Inn is my favorite place to stay in Gloucester. The location is unbeatable --- a view of the Gloucester harbor, and steps away from the Fisherman's Memorial and a short walk to downtown. The rooms at the Inn are large and comfortable, with good showers. The highlight of staying at the Hydrangea Inn is the innkeeper Joan. She's one of the sweetest people I've ever met, and she makes you feel like you're family from the second you walk through the door. Not only is Joan a great storyteller, but she's also an amazing cook, preparing a multi-course breakfast every morning of the stay.
