Ulysses Park — Attraction in Golden

The park itself is pretty great, I visit the dog park almost every day & walk around catching Pokèmon with my friend on the weekends while watching baseball games. I don't skate so can't really say much about that part of the park but I know it's been recently built & looks like fun. My biggest problem with the place is the dog park - many dog owners are disrespectful, intolerant of others & generally irresponsible. The provided doggy bags are often not utilized & people usually just awkwardly leave after their dog poops, even though the bags are FREE & easily accessible. Several 'regulars' act like they own the place & won't hesitate to make you feel unwelcomed if they deem you unworthy & when you attempt to resolve a problem they respond with sarcasam, poor attitude & are blatantly rude to you & your dog. This is a fantastic place for the whole family! They seem to have everything here all wrapped together in one park. There is a great climber for kids, and it has sand instead of that painful wood chips that give splinters. Kids can have a lot of fun especially after it rains because they can build sandcastles and such. They having newly-built skatepark which is very nice. There are liked all up around in case teenagers are there after Dark with their skateboards or scooters. I think this is great because it keeps kids off the streets and out of trouble. There are baseball fields for those who want to play sports. There is also a remarkable dog park at the other end. My dad brings his dog to play at least two or three times per day. This is a very wonderful place and I would suggest everyone in Golden to come and check it out. Decent park for my hubby & son to skate at. They like the variety of things to do tricks off & just cruise around the skatepark part. There needs to be some trash service here badly, though. There was fast food wrappers left in random places & the trash bins were way overflowing. The whole park could use a good mowing also. City: please beautify this park a little. It's definitely worth the attention to upkeep. From their skater perspective, it's worth driving 20 mins from home & bypassing a closer skatepark to come here because of the good variety of things for them to skate.
