I Deeply Regret Not Going to Apple Directly
I chose to bring my computer here instead of sending it to Apple because I wanted to avoid being without it for the three weeks Apple typically takes to ship, repair, and return. I can now say that was a major mistake.
I needed a new screen for my MacBook Pro after a hardware issue caused persistent glitches that made it nearly unusable. The first replacement screen they ordered arrived broken and had to be returned. While this wasnāt their fault, it delayed the repair further. The second screen finally arrived, and they replaced it within two days ā I was relieved, until I realized the new screen came with a whole new set of issues:
The camera was blurry with a strong purple tint on all video calls. The screen brightness would randomly jump to full or drop to zero. The magnetic latch no longer worked when closing the lid. The screen made a popping sound every time it was opened or closed.
Having just paid $700 for this screen, these problems were unacceptable. When I reported them, I was told Iād need to send my entire computer in for testing before they could replace the screen ā which completely defeated the reason I came here instead of going through Apple. After months of back-and-forth messages (almost always initiated by me, since I rarely received proactive updates), they finally agreed to order another replacement screen ā just days before Appleās return deadline.
Unfortunately, the third screen was even worse. It had all the same issues as before, plus a new one: the display went completely black whenever tilted at a normal viewing angle, immediately logging me out of meetings I was on. By this point, months had passed since I first brought my laptop in, and I still didnāt have a working computer.
When I took it to a certified Apple technician at Best Buy, I was told the screen installed was not an official Apple screen. I now understand there are āApple-authorizedā resellers, but I was never told I wouldnāt be receiving an actual Apple part. When they told me they were āworking with Appleā to order a screen, I assumed it was a genuine Apple product.
After all this ā the misrepresentation, poor communication, faulty parts, and additional damage to my device ā I asked for a refund. I was ignored. Iāll now have to pay hundreds more to have my MacBook repaired elsewhere.
In short: save yourself the time,...

The lady working at the time offered to attempt to transfer data onto another device, for a fee of course. She was polite/cordial, but had just fried my baby... I was upset, so I left and took it to āGeekSquad- Best Buy,ā they determined after diagnostics a recovery of data would cost around $800, with severe reservations on actually being able to retrieve any of itšCatastrophic failure!! Data is gone, donāt feel like itās worth pursuing any further, sucks.. Just wish I would have gone into Best Buy first, and purchased a cord, before having years of data/investment lost to the digital gods... Iām not seeking reimbursement, just want to share my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been a customer here for about 5 or 6 years, and Shelby and her Husband have always been able to fix my 2011 Mac Book, (hard drive, RAM, Screen, and fixing the power supply), for about 1/2 of what Apple would charge, snd very quickly. Ipad, PC, laptops, whatever peripheral is broken, they can usually repair the item.
The amount of used equipment, (P/C parts, cords, speakers, tools, toys) they move, both in store and through auction, is pretty amazing. Itās also very nice to buy a power supply for $50, and not $350.
NOS electrical components, testing equipment, nice stereo equipment, itās all here, and some of it museum quality!
This will always be the first place I go for anything electronic. Hoping they have a 100k audio taper potentiometer so I can finish some mods on...
